For something that feels a bit more like an actual Pokemon game in tone, Gaia and Glazed are both good. If you don't mind a bit of edginess and a stupidly complicated plotline with like 8 different villains, Insurgence is my personal favorite (also technically an RPGmaker game not a ROM hack but whatever). It has new megas and Delta Pokemon (before Gamefreak did the same thing kek) which range in quality but I like a lot.

Eevolutions have some obvious designs and I can agree that pretty much every good design for all the remaining types has already been made by fans, but they should just license the best one or deal with the backlash for being similar instead of trying to hard to make different shit like they did for the horrible looking megas in ZA

Not him but I love Wack. It is an "everything AND the kitchen sink" shitpost fangame. 50 types. All mainline Pokemon through gen 7 or so. Also beta versions, fake Megas/Regionals of some. Over 1000 fakemon that were made just for it in MSPaint. Then, if it has a sprite they probably threw it in too because there's over 5000 "Pokemon" in the dex. New moves, abilities, custom region, your rivals in the game are Hitler and Anne Frank, etc. If you can deal with what it gives you, it's good fun I think.

Fool's Gold made me want to use all the Pokemon, but then Box 1 was corrupted. I had a lucky backup save that still had most of those, but it left a sour taste in my mouth. I quit. I found out about the dropped Beta Pokemon concept through that, though.
