Chiaki is a pretty good character and I love her. I also find it ridiculous when people confuse a likeable character with ‘pandering’ or an obnoxious character with ‘deep’. Chiaki, being an AI who has to explore a situation where she must go against her role as an observer to interact more with the group, makes her one of the most well written characters in the game and, at the same time, the one who best represents the main themes of the game's ending, which are precisely to gain agency over your actions and not let others decide your future. Chiaki is an ideal made to go against escapism and conformity yet the average redditor can barely see her true message because they can't read beyond "she's a gamer girl". For fucks sake, even her talent is a reference of her nature inside the game.

dr1 has a lot of classics and probably my favorite.

v3 final choice about sacrifising yourself to end the nightmare or living on stuck in the hamster wheel was also pretty impactful.

A big part of the ending is that the group was practically being forced to make decisions imposed by others. Do what Junko says or do what Makoto says. But they didn't have a choice of their own, even though they were practically being asked to die to save the world. A big part of Chiaki's message was that the choice, regardless of who gave it to you, had to come from within since (You) were the one who would see the consequences come through. I believe the entire chapter could have been done a way better, but the message about regaining agency over your life and rejecting escapism was pretty good.
