Marking a game as private won't hide the achievements or playtime you get, your friends still can see them just in case, they just won't see the game.

I never bothered to set-up a steam profile to begin with. So it's not like they can view my game stats even if they wanted.
That said, my friends already know I play porn games. And I even discuss porn with some of them too.

There is no reason to be ashamed of your friends. If you are then they probably aren't good friends.
If I can discuss it with anons, I can discuss it with my friends.
