How is your youtube channel going?

i have 300 hours of footage from my journey lvling from 1-60 in wow classic but i never had the time to edit it into a video. if i did it now would ppl still watch it? im thinking of making it really longform like 2-3 hrs.

Mine is mostly just a time capsule/archive of me and the lads playing games or just shit posts

Coming up with ideas for stuff just feels like pulling teeth. The only real one I had was a flight sim machinima comedy set in WW2 that my mate and I would write and voice but thats been on the back burner for ages, i still haven't quite figured out the logistics and process of making it

It's going okay, if we could record at normal nigga hours it would be going way better. Shorts are hitting 1k consistently though so thats pretty cool, although I know that doesn't translate to real viewership.

I'll never get over that weird period when a bunch of Game Grumps ripoffs started to pop up. And rather than just being their charismatic selves, everyone deliberately tried to have the dynamic of Jon and Arin. There were so many channels with microscopic view counts that tried for like a year before quietly giving up.

I had my first "viral" video pick related, of course it's a video I didn't put any work into while my real passion projects sit at a few hundred views, thats how it goes I guess.

I don't really have as cynical a perspective but it is interesting how many channels start from zero and have no "hook" to reel viewership in. I wouldn't call it narcissism, it's more like misplaced ambition. Unless you're just doing it out of habit and hoping people stop by. The whole custom thumbnail, crazy editing, forced personality shit is definitely jarring when it comes from someone who doesn't even have comments on their videos.

A lot of those comments are me responding to people and explaining why I feel the way I do. A lot of that engagement is neagtive comments after all.

I just use Davinci Resolve. Free and literally does everything I need. Been using it for 5 years and it never let me down.

fuck me I tried to use that but for some reason it keeps wanting to be installed on the C drive but the drive is small it cant fit.

Youtube is shit now, the algorithm is ass even if you know how to play into what it wants from you as an uploader.

Even if you have great content and do everything right, odds are no ones going to be interested in your stuff so why even bother with the effort. I've seen channels where the guy uploaded every day for a year or more and every single video has like 5 views
