Finally he remembers Shaun and goes up to the surface, but when he sees his destroyed house and codsworth, I wait 2 in game days because he's just broken and feeling sorry for himself.
Finally, driven by his hunger and because of the shock, he kind of goes into automatic fight or flight look for anyone that can get him food.
