I bought one primarily to play Death Stranding 2 and eventually Physint. I also got the RE4 remake, the MGS HD Collection rerelease and the Oblivion remake.

Ghost of Tsushima had a strong sell by being about the mongol invasion of Japan, it was part of the advertising and it's the core conflict of the game as well as a pretty well recorded and significant real life historical event. I have no idea what the conflict is in Yotei, all the ads I see for it are like Kill Bill with whatever her name is talking about going after the "Yotei Six" but I have no idea who the fuck those are or why I should care about them or want to go on an 80 hour open world trek to find and kill them. Tsushima was alternate history but it was grounded in a major event that really happened, I have zero reason to care about whoever the Yotei Six are

Rather play games from devs that don't hate my guts. That's the crux of it. Even if the game was theoretically perfect with zero flaws I still wouldn't play it. Chew on that.

The opposite, first game you had sidequests with specific characters that spanned the length of the game (like Kenji and the priest guy) so it really felt like they were your allies, Yotei has a bunch of forgettable npcs, you do their quests and 5min later never remember them.
