Hint is in the name. Its from a time where everything was raw and unapologetic. When they changed the name to Dark Souls they neutered it and made it plebbit. It was never the same thing. Times had changed. WOKE was the norm.

this is cherry-picked as fuck. demon's souls had plenty of boss fights, hard or otherwise, with tracks that had a dramatic flair, and the opposite for dark souls

Played it earlier this year and I definitely liked it more than most other souls games. It felt a lot more deliberate and shit like the phantoms just made more sense. Also the aesthetic and tone was really nice too. Feels more like an RPG than a 'souls' game which makes it stand out a bit more too imo
