Remember in Operation Genesis where the entire roster of dinosaurs that weren't in the movie were stylized to look like they could have been?
Same with the Telltale game?
Why can't they do that with Evolution? Why do we need progressive representation of modern dinosaur designs if they're just going to keep the originals the same? Why make a bunch of designs that stick out like a sore thumb?
And I don't even dislike feathers, but why don't paleofans make their own games based on accuracy for everyone to play if they want it so badly? Why can't they let the fans of the films have their own thing?

Because it seems all you retard care about is whether you can see feathers or not, because you are paleo-illiterate retards who know nothing about dinosaur anatomy
And you see feathers as this leftist rainbow-coded boogeyman trying to rape your childhood
You don't accept them on the basis they doesn't belong in JP (a series which used to strived to depict dinosaurs up to the standards of scientific knowledge of the time, with speculative bells and whistles attached such as Dilo's venom), but simply because of a manchild tantrum

The whole point of JP is they will never emulate real dinosaurs. Many will end up with genetic birth defects, illnesses, mental or physical issues from being spliced with amphibian DNA and thrown into an entirely new environment after such drastic climate and atmospheric change. The book illustrations and first 3 movies or games prior to JW, nailed how they were supposed to look perfectly.

There weren't that many changes between 2 and 3.
TLW's raptors were based off the wild raptors from the novel.
You had the male green rex which just established dimorphism. The parasaurolophus was also a male.
All the other changes in 3 were implied to be part of some sort of secret experiment fuckery on InGen's part due to Spinosaurus existing and not being on the list, though it's the movie's fault for not expanding on it.

We have skin impressions of T. rex. No feathers. Literally the only evidence of Velociraptor having feathers is an eroded bone fragment with barely visible bumps that's apparently supposed to be evidence of feathers, somehow.
People point to asian "relatives" as proof, but there isn't anything definitive for Velociraptor itself.
The only reliable dinosaur specimen with feathers is archaeopteryx, and that actually had a use for them. A lot of newly discovered feathered species are being found in and around China at a suspicious rate, so it's hard to trust anything they say, especially given their reputation of trying to one up Western civilization.

We still can't say for sure which dinosaurs have feathers and which don't.
But we're talking about video games, right?
Studios are free to give any creature they want feathers.
Also they're even free to make Parasaurolophus breathe fire... as long as they don't say it's scientifically accurate.

King Kong enjoyer here. Jurassic park is absolutely fucked. They could have had a great scene where those monsters are swarming into the water to get at the boat, people being picked off left and right. In the chaos, the diamonds are lost. Then, when the survivors reach the opposite shore there is an even bigger dinosaur, already in a carnivorous frenzy from a previous encounter, charging out of of the woodland to swallow half of them whole. The rest run blindly into a nearby pit where there is an even bigger and more carnivorous monster that fell in earlier, in an even bigger frenzy, that devours a further five people but is ultimately subdued. Then the take it to the city for a stage show.
But they wasted their chance at that.

i assume those mail were about the speculative bits like the raptor intelligence and the dilo's venom... Which were inaccurate by design, obviously. To hammer in the point
But the whole concept behind JP was that it was a 20 years too late manifesto of the Dinosaur Renaissance, which massively changed the way we understood dinosaurs. They were more active, "warm-blooded", muscular and so on.
Grant, being a paleontologist, knew this stuff - he's surprised to see living dinosaurs, but he's rarely surprised by anything specific he sees about them
In contrast, people like Wu and his team knew nothing about dinosaurs - they perception was that of the public: big lumbering retarded lizards
After cloning the first ones, he realised there was more to them, and tried to convince Hammond to change course. But Hammond was an idealist enthusiast and wanted them to be as accurate as possible, despite neither of them knowing enough about dinosaurs nor being cautious enough to prevent the disaster from happening
Do you get it, now?

The βproofβ that this belonged to a dinosaur is pure speculation based on a lack of evidence to the contrary rather than enough supporting evidence to the positive. A large amount of dinosaur research is based off this kind of speculation and is open to all sorts of errors, like thinking the velociraptor was 2-3 times bigger than reality, but this seems extra ridiculous.

Chinese scientists telling women dinosaurs had feathers is why I'm 28 years old and have never had a girlfriend.
Since we seem to finally have a break in all the featherfag seething, I dare you to post your favorite JP dinosaur design from 1993 - 2011.
Can be anything from the games, to toys, to the comics, if there even are any good designs from those.
I'll start with the scrapped Giganotosaurus design from the The Lost World PS1 game.

Assuming JP dinosaurs are scientifically inaccurate due to their lack of feathers, then they already are movie monsters. The size of the dinosaurs are also grossly exaggerated, eye placement on the T-Rex is wrong, roar sounds are completely fictitious, hunting pattern/psychology is purely speculative as well. They literally are just fictional movie monsters and thereβs nothing wrong with wanting to keep it that way.

Of the 90 dinosaurs in the game, 8 have feathers. Four are movie designs, so if you're complaining that they don't fit with the movies, those are out, one is a flying reptile so if you're complaining about feathered dinosaurs that's out. So there's 3 new feathered dinosaurs in the game, out of 90. 3.3% of the new roster, but 100% of the threads about the game on /v/ are seething about it.

Deinonychus has a scaly skin alt so it's just Yutyrannus and Utahraptor. Which are two of the most popular dinos from the two best selling JWE2 DLC. Scalefags want them out despite them being what actual fans of the games bought and paid for previously. But scalefags are just SJWs who want the game to change to their sensibilities despite them not playing them - which is why they think the entire roster is feathered dinos.

Start with pirating zbrush 2022 to make organic models, and later substance painter to color them and blender to make a final illustration. It's ok to do it with mouse at first, but having a basic small drawing tablet helps a lot, mandatory in a long run.
Most people will advise starting with Blender, doing a youtube Donut course and sculpting there too. Starting from the very basics. But I'd say it's a bit too dry and off topic. Easier to progress when you make what you like, not chairs or rendering technics. Learn what you currently need, not things you maybe potentially need later. If you don't have much free time or want to commit just yet, then sure, get Blender + Donut tutorial, it's fast and free.
/3/ 3D board has ton of resources, youtube as well is full of great free stuff, even advanced topics.
3D sculpting is simultaneously very complex and surprisingly easy. Mostly comes down to how much patience you have and how high of a quality you want to achieve.

There is nothing scientific about creating drawings and renderings of fully fleshed creatures that don't exist today based on bones of dead creature fossils. Just look at the skeleton of creatures that are still alive today. They look nothing like their fleshed out form. Then look into and research that there has not been a SINGLE completed fossil of any of these ancient creatures. Then you can read the genealogy of the first man Adam and his genealogy + add the days post publication of the Bible. It is roughly between 6k and 6.8k years.

It further strengthens and brings into discussion evolution. A political ideology meant to separate the people from God. It brings a digestible format to people casually talk about creatures that probably never existed and if they did exist especially not at the times "scientists" claim. It needs to be destroyed as an institution. The only reason we are having arguments about it is because it was designed to get children to latch onto a poisonous pseudo religion. You probably had a stegasaurus in your baby carriage and you wonder why you have people defending a fabricated no evidence theory.

Fossils are delicate yet extremely fucking heavy because they're pure rock, you can't mount that in the air to make a cool looking whole skeleton exhibit, because that's for the KIDS to look at and be entertained by. The real fossils are more mundane.

Explain to me the theory of evolution, then. Make sure to explain to me what transitory fossils are. How different kinds of animals can cross over speciation and provide examples. I will fill you in on this. Evolution is not based on science. You cannot use the scientific method to verify the claims presented within the theory of evolution. Fossils do not show if an animal had offspring or that they lived millions of years ago. The geologic column was created in the 1840s They didnt create a way to "measure" ages of creatures until the 1960s. Yet, these arbitrary numbers became word of god to secularists.

I only have two huge, fat, greasy, unemployed, criticism of Jurassic Park Evolution:
-1. They're introducing breeding into the new game and while I'm all for it they should have kept it either a secret mechanic or something that you have no control over. It should be something that happens when you're not in control, something that dramatically compromises security/increases difficult & danger, but provides rewards in the form of exotic valuable variants you can't otherwise clone.
-2. The hybrids are all fucking dogshit, I hate them, and the general "monster design" of any of these creatures post Jurassic Park 3(?) has been ass. If you seriously like how the Dilophosaurus looks you're unironically retarded and deserve the reality we have to live in. The spino-raptor, the tricera-stego, all of these creatures are vomit. Universal Studios creature design team have no taste.
*WITH THAT SAID*: the idea that "the cloned dinosaurs were hybridized with modern animals to repair their DNA, so they look and behave different. However, modern advances in cloning and gene-extraction have allowed us to make authentic replicated species." is actually a really amazing and fun piece of worldbuilding to work with. They should have ran with it and made it a major game mechanic. Something like, early in the game you have to settle for 65% genome completion, substituting the rest with an appropriate species, but then this compromises their authenticity: Ceratopsids are packed with cattle & rhino, for the sociability and appearance, but now they're growing fur, shit like that.

What we claim are dinosaurs who lived millions of years ago are in fact dragons that lived along side of humans until most of them were wiped out after the global flood. I will make note that ancient cultures described dragons as how we describe dinosaurs today. A notable example of this is the chinese zodiac. It has 12 confirmed real animals and a dragon. Why would the 12 real creatures be there and a fake creature added in the zodiac? Is it more likely to conclude that these giant beasts were with us as little as 4000 years ago or that they were millions of years away? Why were dragon hunting squadrons found to be still in existence as late as the 1400s?

It has nothing to do with that. It is secularist propaganda to keep the general public talking about evolution. Who is the target audience for dinosaurs? Small children. It is a way to mind rape children to become unquestioning sycophants so they defend an unverifiable positions that only serve to oust young earth creationism. Ask yourself. What sector of society improved from the theory of evolution? What would regress if evolution never existed? Who benefits from promoting evolution?

>trannies, schizos, and teenage edgelord falseflag posters are having performative meltdowns over the supposed political ramifications of dinosaurs having feathers.
What the hell am I reading? What is any of this even supposed to prove? In my entire living memory the scientific consensus has always been that birds evolved from dinosaurs evolved from birds, and I've been a dinofag since I was old enough to read. Archaeopteryx was discovered in the 1800s.
>>723552513
It's possible (though not likely) that there were dinosaurs that survived the Cretaceous extinction event and went extinct later. This wouldn't disprove evolution any more than the existence of Archaeopteryx or monotremes disproves creationism (which is wrong, but for other reasons). Given the relative scarcity of fossils and the vast amounts of times involved, there are no doubt entire species that we have no knowledge of. So it's possible that some dinosaur descendents survived until the Holocene era and were then hunted to extinction, just like it's possible that, say, Gigantopithecus survived into our current era and is the basis for bigfoot legends. I don't have a reason to believe it, but it's not completely inconsistent with our scientific knowledge.

I'm stating that our knowledge is not scientific in regards to evolutionary theory. It is formed from a belief system that the geologic column is valid and accurate. These age ranges were made before and testing was ever made available, they will put any form of testing to fit into this rigid system. To the point that they have to redo and correct the math between the relative age and the carbon age vased on which layer they find the fossil in.
Orvulux or whatever the fuck archaeopteryx is called does not discredit creationism. A dead fossilized creature does not produce evidence that it made offspring or that those offspring mutated to a different kind of animal and it doesn't mean it was fossilized for millions of years. Our scientific knowledge is people feverishly trying to make sure that the geologic column is accurate and valid by any means necessary.

yes, but apparently the only thing both chrichton and spielberg said it came from the splicing was the ability to change sex. other stuff like dilophosaurus being venomous or carnotaurus turning invisible were inventions by chrichton, simply because they couldn't be proven with the fossils available. the rest was made as realistic as possible. overall jurassic park is a weird hodgepodge of wrong design choices for several different reasons. not only that, spielberg & co contantly changed the narrative, like saying that they wanted dinosaurs that were absolutely realistic but then dodged questions about wrong designs like the dilophosaurus being big as a velociraptor and the velociraptor being big as a dilophosaurus. so in the end, saying that jurassic park is a stupid monster movie that only cares about the spectacle is false and disingenuous

chrichton is an incredibly overrated author, and i believe the reason why he rose to fame was because science thrillers were all the rage back then, especially after they cloned that sheep dolly. he profited from this trend just like psychological thrillers became the new hit in the 2010s. he also tailored for himself the image of the intellectual professor writing sharp novels about the risks of scientific research for the sake of money, despite the fact that he writes like an absolute doofus.

I've heard the claim that Chrichton is great at writing scenarios in which reasonable systems designed by rational, intelligent people break down, but his character writing and drama is extremely spotty. I think thats fair, but TLW really seems like he had no idea what to do

The ability to differentiate between fiction and reality is a sign of a functioning mind. People who need feather dinosaurs in their alternate universe dinosaur theme park games are the kind of people who need fantasy wars between angels and demons to be recontextualized in the framework of modern political debate.

To be fair, he didn't.
He killed off Malcolm at the end of the first novel and Spielberg immediately smelled the green as soon as the film wrapped up. Sequel was inevitable, Goldblum was the only one available for one and Spielberg practically forced Crichton to write a sequel that he didn't want to do as an outline for the second film with Malcolm returning, saying the sequel was gonna happen with or without Crichton.

>cosa rican/us feds decide they need to mount an exhibition to deal with the dinos
>subpoenas as many classic characters as you care for
>waves off any concerns with their safeguards ("we have guns and air support")

Instead its "we dragged a trex baby to our trailer and dropped a candy bar on a raptor"
