I quit quitted star rail forever ago because my girlfriend quit it and I didn't care enough for the world to tolerate the nonexistent gameplay. Herta is still cool though.
Tried wuwa on launch week and didn't like it because the world design was soulless and the writing was atrocious, just harem shit power fantasy. Based on what I have read, both of these got amplified now so that was a wise decision.
I liked ZZZ at launch but they panicked due to criticism and ruined the game completely with their reboots and rewrites and Chinese pandering. Shameful.
Still love Genshin dearly.

Rather it shows how strictly they control the new kits and how little they allow you to do outside of the one purpose the character was designed for. She's a strict dendro dps, not a quickbloom, not a burgeon and so on.
It's pretty boring how reactions in nod krai are reduced to hyperbuffing a carry and not much else.

That kind of talent eliminates future growth for Nefer teams. IE say there's a Nilou 2.0 that makes burgeon OP or something. Well that character won't work for Nefer teams meaning Nefer is now a brick. Whereas that new meta unit will work with all your other dendro friends.
Even Flins won't age as badly since he can potentially benefit from all sorts of future units. His gameplay sucked though so he was an easy skip. Nefer is decent though so it sucks she's getting massively cucked like this. You get like 100 EM instead of blooms, it's fucking dumb.

That's my story with these games pretty much.
HSR from 1.0 to halfway through Penacony (Sunday boss), stopped because the writing and pacing were ass and it was just a numbers game.
Tried Wuwa between Ciaccona and Augusta, I played it very seriously, cleared all the endgame after 2 months and then dropped it because again the writing was very formulaic and predictable, and honestly not fun, even if Lupa had a well written first half.
ZZZ from 1.0 to 2.0 and I should've quit when Miyabi released because the game already showed all the signs at the time that it would only get worse as more features that made 1.0 enjoyable get scrapped, and cast that is nowhere near as enjoyable as the launch one gets introduced and pandered toward.

I forgot to say, past the first few weeks, the gameplay of Wuwa became very boring. It's flashy and you press a lot of buttons but every single enemy is fought the same. It's like if in DMC you didn't have to react to anything, just repeat your optimal damage rotation ad nauseum.
ZZZ at least was very reactive but the roguelite modes they had at release was much more fun and varied than the chore that is the sort of ZZZ simverse they replaced it with which is just back to back arenas with upgrades that barely matter. The old gamemode had a good risk/reward thing going for it and had they expanded upon that one instead of scrapping it it would be in a very good spot right now.

In both Tower of Adversity and Whimpering Wastes you simply follow your rotation and ignore everything that comes your way. Parries happen pretty much automatically with how many lingering hitboxes you shit out.
Dodging only matters against holograms because they one shot you and take so long to kill but to me this kind of design where high difficulty means getting one shot in a fight against a HP sponge is just as bad as the tower in ZZZ.
I'm not arguing in favor of ZZZ there, I dropped both games for different reasons.

Genshin still has both of those though. Hell, I'd argue the team building is better than ever because of how many options there are now. Back in 1.x-2.x you realistically only had one option for a lot of things. Power creep has definitely happened but not in a way that invalidates many characters. Launch 4*s are still defining the meta.

Last gacha I played was Epic 7 global launch after that I couldn't be arsed to play anything else for a considerable amount of time. Picked up Morimens 2 months ago and it has been a real treat when it comes to visuals, gameplay, music and story somewhat (AI translation making it hard to follow sometimes). Still need to reach endgame so can't say I'll keep playing with how small the dev team is and how slow noticeable content comes out.

That's why every single new character has a shit ton of AoE in their kit, all their attacks are massive explosions of special effects because they expect you to kill groups of trash mobs
Earlier characters are unusable because they simply lack the AoE and were more focused on more deliberate single target damage

It's only true for whimpering wastes, if you pay attention to what the enemy is doing in TOA you vastly improve your clear time as you become increasingly aware of which moves he'll start at a specific range and where the hotboxes are located, allowing you to find the openings to do as much of your rotation uninterrupted (i.e with as little dodging as possible and without the enemy moving out of reach).

Sure, gacha games are rather lackluster compared to real games when it comes to combat but we really haven't gotten anything better than ZZZ and Wuwa

Genshin, but I simply log in, spend my resin, auto-comple dailies, claim my primos, and wait until the next day. Takes about 7 minutes, but Nod-Krai characters suck so far and restrict teambuilding too much, meaning there's no incentive to keep playing more than necessary and experimenting. Might roll for Nefer only because Alfagtham, the only dendro carry I have, is outright pathetic considering how beefy everything is now.

The bottom line is if they needed a mouthpiece character like Paimon then they should have just made the MC speak for themselves. So much of the story flow is utterly screwed by Paimon's existence.
