It happens. We were configuring 3 new servers at work today - these are $23,000 machines - and 2 of them had corrupted BIOS. Like ... nigga ... wtf? How hard is it to QC this stuff before you ship it?
You will never convince me this isn't a diversity issue. 20 years ago, shit worked. Appointments weren't constantly cancelled. People were on time. Your fucking microwave didn't need firmware updates to fix clock sync errors (yeah, that actually happened). None of it started until we flooded management positions with incompetent, unqualified people.
