Tales of Symphonia somewhere maybe 3 hours into the game when one is leaving the village and is in the area where one meets the first optional sword dancer boss up to eight hours into the game.:
I started to get and like the story and the characters, the fighting system started to get really fun with all kinds of cool techniques and enough mana to activate them often enough and the world opened up for exploration, making it feel like an adventure.
Made me a fan but skipping through a walkthrough right now to find the 'one moment' gave me the impression that I wouldn't enjoy the game anymore nowadays.

Every other time I'd stopped somewhere in Hell's Kitchen or on the way to the warehouse. That time I pushed through and through. Painfully accurate.
The game peaked the first time I fought a griffin and it flew off with me.
Nothing else that interesting ever happened. Just more of the same until it was over. Maybe a second thin line of diamonds at the Unmoored World reveal, but it didn't end up actually being that interesting either.

>Ive barely even left the first zone, this is great!
>Wait, theres nothing else? Thats it?
I was actually loving it right up until I had nothing to do but the main quest, where you get taken to the other zones in the game and there is absoloutely nothing in them, they are a complete waste of space in teh game and I feel if Capcom didnt even make these zones they couldve rounded out and focused on making something actually good, and then you find that there was no Everfall or BBI equivelent, it was just done.

I liked the game but I have no desire to ever play it again. "keystone franchise" my ass, they abandoned it and now DD is dead for real.

dark souls 2 has so many upgrade materials for a reason
it actually encourages you to have a vast fleshed out arsenal, ranged weapons, multiple melee weapons, etc
Even just having like, a generic sword, a scythe and some throwing knives will help you greatly. But most idiots get mad with the game because they tried to go through all of it with merely a single melee weapon hoping to deal with everything like they did in DS1/DS3

Once you start messing around with more stuff to make a build and experiment with different class combinations, and eventually going for specific affinities, the game feels so much more open and fun. Only real issue is you got to find a spreadsheet to really look at everything and figure out what you want to try to go for (such as combining Dark Knight and Berserker affinities so you have permanent reflect and shell effects).

What? It's the first time I hear someone having issues with these 2 in the game. Currency becomes a non-issue relatively early on, to the point where buying 20 save potions is a non issue and you also stop carrying everything you see on your dead enemies. Damn, after a while you stop even carrying the expensive weapons.

I don't end up selling all that loot either as the vendors in games have to be broke ass all the time, while selling 1 bear penis (battle-scarred) for 1 quintillion e-septims.

God I hate how true this is. Xenoblade 3 was such a shitshow and it should have been so much better than it ended up being. I genuinely have no fucking clue how anyone goes around calling it their favorite in the series.

Anon, you have to get over this hoarding mentality. You know how hoarders end up in real life. In games like KCD, it teaches you early on that carrying everything is punishing. It's part of the learning curve, you have to learn what to pick up and what to leave behind.

it just triggers the reward part of my lizard brain, collecting and hoarding in games. Leaving loot behind is like not getting paid at work. In real life I can't stand clutter and only buy necessary and immediate items, no "live laugh love decoration" women stuff, so there isn't much danger of ending up on TLC.

With save states sure there are potions, but I could save 5 times during one night of stealing houses, or before every sword fight, I really don't want to do it all over again. Real life is punishing enough so in games me and probably many others prefer when things go smooth almost all the time.

nobody wants to hear it, but the reason the great plateau was so good is that you had to navigate it without a glider. the glider is a massive crutch that sucks the fun out of traversal by making it too easy. should've been a magic sheikah glider that only worked when you jumped off of a tower.

Mh3u when I fought barroth.
I dropped mh like 3 times getting to that point. I thought a the monsters looked bad or were too easy. Plus spending hours just gathering.
Once I got to barroth I realized the monsters could be pretty big, challenging, and fun to hunt. And its armor looked pretty cool.
I then proceeded to no life the game for a while. And its now my favorite series.
