Wait wtf... This is... fun? Why did DMCfags poison the well with bland juggling simulators when apparently 2d beat em ups are actually very strategic and engaging?
Any other games like this? (not metroidvania)

Buy ninja warriors once again. The boomers at natsume deserve their paychecks.

It's fun but also one of the worst roguelites I've played. The game would be better if it was just a SoR styled beat'em up with all the talents as different moves.

The fact that if I get the shoulder tackle as Karl with any sort of basic punch ritual and max that out I just win is silly. The ritual thing probably works for every character but Karl is the fun one. Also the elf guy being a bait and switch girl and NEVER using her sword in normal attacks is retarded.

Also also the root person bait and switch token black whose pregnant with an Afro and details to you all the lore in each area is way too hamfisted. Id accept her being black if she didn't have the stupid Afro and the lore was conveyed more organically.

Double Dragon Revive is next week so hopefully that one is better than this.

It's a bit fun, but I thought there would be... more to the setting. The fact that the warrior was actually a Maid and she preferred it that way and had only been forced to the role of warrior was interesting, but nothing came off that. They kept hinting the niggress goddess was evil but again, nothing. I was a bit disappointed.

Thanks anon, I was on the fence on buying this but I'm seriously nigger fatigued and will not touch this. Like you said it's a hamfisted archetype that shoves itself in themes and setting and it's making me disgusted at this point

Absolum is just okay. I don't like the rogue-whatever stuff. It was fun in SoR4 as a side-mode, but not here where the whole game is built around it. Speaking of which, I also just like SOR4 better than this game in general. I'll say, though, I'll always like how 2D beat 'em up handle juggling. It has more depth than it does in 3D action games, because you can actually use it for crowd control by juggling multiple enemies at the same time.

Took me 14 runs to beat the Underking with Karl. Why am I such a shitter, bros? Now I'm playing with the troon frog. Xhe's fun.

It's okay. The writer really wants you to really care about the world, which absolutely sucks and is incredibly gay. And I'm pretty sure the bad guy The Sun King is a Trump allegory (this is an EU funded project). It's alright if you play with a friend and just completely ignore all the dialogue and story.

Also the sound engineering is horrible. It's especially noticeable if you wear headphones.

Dragons Crown is a GOAT beat em up but the first playthrough is admittedly bland until you get access to your charcters full moveset. It is kind of a shame because most people get filtered early on and dont see how just how fucking hard it goes. Hard/Inferno mode Dragons Crown is easily my favorite beat em up of all time.
