I finally see the appeal of gacha games. I unironically think that they are superior now.
Why? Well, in a normal game, you just select your cute girl character to play as her and that's it. In a gacha, you have to roll for a chance to obtain her. Some of the games have pretty bullshit odds, but that actually makes it better. Gacha games are superior because it's like the girl chooses you. If you roll against 0.00001% odds and get a cute girl, she chose you. You earned her. She's yours. It feels more intimate. It's a feeling that no other game can provide. I heard Xenoblade 2 (or 3?) has a similar system, but if the odds are even remotely reasonable then it loses appeal.
