I do like the idea of a world where Humans are the ancient precursor race that reached the peak of civilization and left a bunch of crazy ruins for those that came after to explore. I think it would be neat to imagine a game where you either play a secret disguised human in a world of uplifted animal people trying to figure out what happened to your people, or have one of the characters you meet or take as a companion be a Human.
