>he was being shit on for saying Bayonetta was 'empowering' for women.
I think that is actually the official narrative now. They first said that Bayonetta was another example of portraying women as sex objects. Then they found out that the creator and designer of Bayonetta was a woman in real life all along, then they said "well she made it under instructions to design it for the male gaze!" Later they then said that Bayonetta was in fact a feminist icon because she "owns her sexuality" and was an example of "sex positive feminism" and now gaslight that they always liked Bayonetta as an example of a positive sexual female character. Other than Anita who is strictly sex-negative.

Why are developers/journos so quick to dunk on the audience in vidya? I feel like I always see devs or journos excusing something shit happening either in or relation to games, but in film/tv the examples are significantly more slim. Over in film/tv they only expect people to use kid gloves if you work inside the industry, because networking but also because they understand how hard it is, meanwhile in vidya it seems like everyone is expected to use kid gloves when critiquing. Marvel, biggest franchise at the moment hence why it's my example, has had a rough few years and actually has a lot of good reasons for such (dropping Kang, too many projects, Disney+) but they've never lashed out at audiences for not being supportive, hell fucking Fantastic Beasts was outright cancelled with 2 movies left and no audience attacks were made, the only time I am aware of audiences being attack was the Snyder Cut discussion *but* even those attacks were understandable as they were completely correct, that particular cut of the film didnt exist in the form they believed it did until the pandemic allowed for something to be done.

The left analog stick moves you forward, back, and strafes right and left, while the right analog stick turns you and can be used to look up and down. Too often, you'll turn to face a foe and find that your weapon is aimed at the floor or ceiling while the alien gleefully hacks away at your midsection. Add to the mix a few other head scratchers - such as how the triangle button controls item and health use - and you'll be wondering how Sony let this get by without requesting a few different control configuration options.

No. They're equally slimy HOWEVER, because of unions finance and a history of cheating bad enough so that they faced FMITA legal consequences from the FTC, they can't blatantly lie about the reception, sales revenue and profitability of a project in the same way you see all the fucking time in gaming. So when there's a giant turd like SW acolytes, or the antifa movie, one battle after another, that bombs like a death star, you can't just pretend it's successful like they did with AC shadows, or Indiana Jones Xbox, and protect the creatives that they suck the cock of so easily.

They are quite open and direct on how much they hate that regular audiences aren't buying their big, dumb woke bombs in film though.

There's no such thing as game journalism. It was reviews, previews, interviews, publisher access. Magazines were distribution for press releases.

Now publishers stream media events direct to consumers. YouTube and Twitch has you covered. Back in the day people would buy based off of a couple tiny pictures on the back of the box, now there's so much easy information.

Gamjournos try to pretend covering workplace gossip is "journalism". It's all tabloid slop.

mostly gay office shit desu. Sometimes weird cringe shit would happen, sometimes for in house preview events publishers would send an army of sad strippers in branded clothing into the office to shill a demo for something most of us already played at e3, those were pretty funny. Got to meet C3P0's actor once, one of my co-workers cornered him and showed him his tattoo of C3P0 and the dude got visibly very uncomfortable and just asked him "why would you do that to yourself??".
