Retroid Pocket 4 Pro/5/Flip 2 can. They can even run Switch, 3DS, Vita, and PS3. I shit you not I played Odin Sphere Leifthrasir on a PS3 emulator on my 4 Pro and it works. Emulation for PS3 games is a bit buggy but at least it is improving. Switch emulation, Sonic Mania, The Messenger, and Unicorn Overlord(which I have on it) works great on it so far.

I don't understand how AetherSX2 could have been co-opted like that since it's essentially a fork of PCSX2 yet some faggot managed to get the "rights" to it even though it was closed source. My biggest concerns with it currently is the price and the size, I refuse to pay more than 100 bucks for any chinkheld mainly because their QC just can't be trusted and IMO the RG34XXSP is the perfect size for a chinkheld, so if they do anything besides making it wider it won't really be pocketable anymore.

Nothing, i already have a phone with SD 8 Elite in it and LTPO OLED screen. It cam emulate up to PS3 included. I have KotOR, Titan Quest and Neverwinter Nights on it, which combined nets you hundreds of hours of gameplay. I can play them just fine with touch controls, and can just get a cheap mini BT controller if i wanted to play emulated games.

The RG35XX Plus a good system, but I find the ergonomics aren't the best in terms of how high up the shoulder buttons are placed on the back of the device. But for around the same price, you can get one of its siblings. The 35XX Pro is slightly taller to accommodate two analog sticks and has the same 3.5 inch screen. There's also the 40XX V which only has one analog stick for some reason, but it's got a bigger 4 inch screen and is closer in size to a DMG, my favourite of the bunch. They all have the same chipset, so the same performance level (PS1 and below, with some, N64, Dreamcast and PSP games ranging from just about playable to don't even bother. There's also the TrimUI brick which is slightly more compact with a 3.2 inch screen with higher resolution, and a different chipset but still around the same performance level. Also around the same price. I think all three of these systems are noticeably more comfortable to hold than the 35XX Plus

None of those are available in a DMG colorway unfortunately, but still great options. Especially if you use integer scaling, which will leave you with a black border around the screen, which will then let you put a Game Boy overlay on it to really sell the effect.

I got GBA, but modding it would probably cost like 200 dollars because i would need to buy some necessary stuffs to mod it, plus one of those pirate cards because no way i pay some crazy ass flipper 200 dollar for loose fire emblem copy or reproduction cart for pokemon games etc.
NDS usually run for 100 dollar + on ebay
3ds XL for good quality/not falling apart, bad touch screen, buttons etc are around 200-300 dollars more if it's some fancy edition or from museum that recently decomissioned them. Plus buying SD card to put the software mod on it.
PSP, actually no fucking idea how much it costs but i also never saw locally sold, so either people still using it or it was trashed.
PS vita, honestly? No games i care for or wasn't ported to other stuffs.
Also getting them from ebay would mean i need to pay for import tax as well and locally no one is selling it. I rarely see it in console stores focused on second hand market, but they are semi close to ebay prices along side of facebook market suffering from the same thing.
So it's more sensible for me to get something like AYN Thor and accept black borders or other quirks emulator may have, but GBA and NDS run flawlessly thanks to Drastic the DS emulator being stupidly well optimized. Is it janky? Is it weird? Yes. But since i was kid i got used to playing on emulators like for mega drive and never was bothered by black borders or what now as i still play old games that prefers 4:3. I did try to look up monitor of same aspect in hopes of finding HDMI/display port one with vesa mount capacity but they are stupidly expensive for either office work or "retro game enthusiastic store" product. I just work with what i can put my hands on reasonably. If new 3ds XL models costed only 50 dollars or 100 at best i would go with that, but they are way more expensive than what i'm willing to give to a 10 years old used tech

I have that exact Gamesir model... for anyone wondering, yeah it DOES work... but that dpad on the left is gaaaarbage, it's very clunky and hard to press and uncomfortable.
However the left and right stick are BUTTER smooth and have hall effect and extreemely comfortable , and the left+right triggers also feel great.
So it's a bit of a mixed bag. Also it's (much) heavier than other phone controllers

It's really weird how Retroid had infinite money forever if they kept the Retroid Pocket 2S available as an option but instead they stopped making it (ran out of Retroid Pocket 3 shells or something like that?) and left a power-vacuum for that price and power range. Sucks too, the 2S is a very nice little handheld, and you have to get a Pocket 5 if you want something decently powerful from them that also has front-firing speakers and isn't a gimmick form-factor (like the Classic with its Miyoo Mini-like form-factor)

Maybe some day since there's a guy on Etsy who sells very good stick-cap replacements shaped like other consoles. I got the mushroom or Playstation shaped "Dome" style in black for my 4 Pro and I was very impressed, they're the only aftermarket stick toppers I've found that don't feel like shit when they butt up against the sides of the stick wells. Inevitably if I get a 5 Pro I'll probably look into getting color appropriate Gamecube sticks.

It won't and can't feel like a DS touchscreen + stylus, resistive touchscreens are much better for general pen-feel and cast plastic styluses like the DS had are quite a bit more durable. Capacitive screens can, depending on the screen's quality and whether it's an "active" or powered stylus like on a Samsung Galaxy or Redmi Note phone, have trouble with fine tips on styluses, which is why you see fine-tip styluses have that rubber disc on the point to broaden the contact area. It also means that they can't really mold a stylus holder into the console's shell like the DS did, not only would they have to make a custom stylus design but storing it would probably shred the rubber nib.

Who wants to buy my Miyoo Mini Plus and Retroid Pocket 4 Pro? I have no need for either now. Never play anything about GC on the Pocket 4 Pro and not a huge fan of widescreen hacks. The Mini Plus gets played daily but won't be needed after I own this literal perfect device. I have both in the retro color scheme (Miyoo Mini Plus I bought two so I could use the correct color d-pad from the Purple then I returned it, not sure how Miyoo fucked that up so bad but it is perfect now).

I got an odin 2 mini and it's been great. Emulates perfectly up to the Switch so I've been going through the gamecube and PS2 library as well as Bloodborne.

There's nothing entirely wrong with these handhelds, but I don't think there's much use to owning one if you already have a steam deck.
