Anytime I've tried to use one for genuine productivity purposes they have never managed to give me a correct or useful response

It is perfectly possible to create a high quality game with many faultless generative AI systems integrated (can't make a story though, AIs cannot do this by meaning), and more or less possible to run on modern computers, complete with fuck huge maps.
It is likely vastly beyond their expertise, however.
Even the current ways AIs are trained are subpar.

It isn't, and I'm a good example of that. I don't have a university degree certifying me as a software engineer or programmer. I'm not even American. I just know how to express myself in English and learned the basics of Python at Codecademy. Yet, I work as a programmer, thanks in part to Claude Code. So the problem is not so much generative AI, but rather that poorly qualified people are programming with the help of AI

Agentic AIs are tools to supplement your own skills. You don't need an academic background to develop programs, all ypu need in interest in the subject matter.

I recently finished my console collection. I pretty much own all of them. Still need to up the game collection, but eventually I will have thousands of games. Most of which I'll never have enough time to play anyway. When devs stop making anything that appeals to me I'll just cancel my internet service provider and go off grid with my collection of games and data. So, basically I'm not going to pick up an new hobby. I'm just going to become a hermit person.

The best use of AI in any case is to have it generate a skeleton of what you want, and to adjust it for your needs. Any complicated task has a high risk of it not doing exactly as you need it to/it getting confused with bad data

At this point I'm just gonna turn other games into Halo rather than trust a new Halo game.
