i just finished playing mass effect 1 (legendary edition) for the first time, so honourable mention for that. i only didn't put it on the list because i haven't played the other 2 yet so i don't know which one i'd put on the list

I’m semi-retarded when it comes to old RPGs, and I tried Arcanum many times but never had could pass the bandits in the first town. What do I have to do to kill them, my builds were always pretty bad, which is a shame since the game looks cool.

I get different things out of most CRPGs than I do out of JRPGs. I guess if I really thought hard on it I would categorize not by genre title but by Choose Your Own Adventure/Curated Linear Narrative.

What's the appeal of 2000 era RPGs?

t. still playing Wizardry 6 on a regular basis, got repulsed by Baldur's Gate and never stayed with any games released after 2000 longer than a single afternoon
