How do I not suck shit as a "non support" character?
Tried holliday, was doing relatively fine in my line but I can't aim headshots for shit and eventually we just crumbled because the other lanes got fucked hard.
Tried Billy, didn't really do anything remarkable in the lane(no one died) but I ended up being fairly weak, my soul count was the lowest in the game and my damage pretty unremarkable despite dying once.

DPS/jungle characters were never my thing in Smite/Dota so I'm a bit lost here.

Camp stacking is not a warcraft 3 thing, it's a dota map thing. It is good that it is kept as emergent gameplay rather than patched.
They did initially port absolutely everything, including the "w3 engine quirks" like shit from reign of chaos being mostly hard coded so you cannot stack orb attack modifiers and... that's about it, everything else is not an engine quirk, but clear-cut game design.
