A lot of PS2 games (including FFX) are blurry as a halfass anti-aliasing method, but you can toggle that in the settings of PCSX2.

No one really dislikes it anymore, the issue is for a good 15 years PCSX2 did not update it's stable version at all, and you had to go look in their distribution page to get the nightlies that were updated slightly more frequently. So, you have retards who were downloading a version from fucking 2011 that could play FFX international, and like, god of war, that was it. Meanwhile the nightly had 60% compat rates.
The devs stopped working on it for a while too before just giving up the source and then the new team took over and opened it up a lot more.

Nowadays it's updated frequently, both stable and nightlies, and compat is like 95%, and like 70% of them are full speed playable on hardware from a decade ago.

Try playing Guitar Hero or any game that requires precise inputs.

You can set up particular game on regular gamepad to work but then theres specific section or something that requires specific motions on wiimote so you cant progress because you can map everything to Xbox/DS4 controller for example. Honestly my personal quirks are just the fact that native resolution still isn't actually pixel for pixel native, and that some games don't upscale correctly so you get stuff like Yakuza 1/2 having broken bloom no matter your settings. I don't regularly upscale, but when native isn't quite right sometimes and upscaling has its own issues you kinda get some sorta fucked visuals no matter how you slice it.

Even the high end chipsets have issues because of the lackluster driver support from factory, most notably, the newest Snapdragons. Ironically, Sly works better in software mode than either OpenGL or Vulkan because of how awful the drivers are, you either get ass performance, or the graphics keep breaking and eventually crashes the whole Vulkan driver, and this is on a Snapdragon 8 Elite, btw.

midnight club 2 is one of the most annoying racing games to have ever been created but I like it despite that. I can see why rockstar didn't want to keep it going though.

I bought a brand new ps2 slim like 20 years ago and never used it. Tried to play San Andreas on my 50 inch tv this summer and it looks like garbage, like try watching a 240p video on YouTube now and pretend that's acceptable in this day and age. Resorted to emulation, and playing at just 2x native resolution on my 27 inch monitor is so much better. I've also played FFX and XII since and they looked great.

It's also super fucking noisy, barely reads discs, needs modding to play all games, the controller is garbage, and it can barely run any game in 480p. And also not possible to connect to modern TVs unless you still use an older set that has at least component input (and even then the graphics will look horrible since the machine was optimized for composite video output).
