Maybe I am a sentimental person but I know that if I had finished Automata first and then played Replicant I would be beating myself up because so many little references give nice pay off when encountered in Automata.
The reason why I contemplate telling someone to play Automata first, besides probably being a more interesting hook than Replicant, is that by having a little bit of Automata under the belt
the Administrators revealed at the end feel much more impactful because they aesthetically bridge to Automata
