Finally beat this after only being able to play on weekends. What did everyone else link? I loved how it brought characters from the side material back and confirmed a ton of fan theories. I do miss Mira though.

I appreciate all the gameplay changes since it makes actually playing the game a lot better. The party menu actually made me swap party members very often.
Chapter 13 was very weird for me. Maybe if it was a full game it would work better, but with the way they were speedrunning everything about it, it felt pretty poor.

I absolutely enjoyed the time I spent with it when I played it on Wii U three years ago. I would like to replay it again.

The world design is SSS+-tier and the sense of exploration is unprecedented.

The QoL is appreciated. The new ending is fine, it's better than being stuck on a cliffhanger. I hope we'll see some of the xenos in Xenoblade 4.

Tbh the Xenoblade 1 remake didn't have the beanstalk changes in Xenoblade 2 it could just now be that the planet going forward now has a ring around it, could be the debris from the elevator. I'm fine with it being Kosmo and the X crew ending up in the Xenogears planet

I assume its like the other Xenoblade retranslations and just work. Biggest problem I hate about these retranslations is every guide and sources is going to use the localized names and these localizer fucks changed every fucking term imaginable. From character names, to locations, to items, to weapons to the point where you can't look up shit because everything was changed. Even English terms.

I thought it was pretty cool when you're exploring everything for the first time but there's way too many crappy sidequests and the game turns into a fast travel simulator

I really liked the game but also thought it shits itself over build variety.
Like, sure, there are lots of class trees but the game is clearly leaning HEAVILY over longsword and photon sabers it's insane.

There's no way you can, for instance, do damage playing Shield unless you spend a ridiculous amount of time grinding materials for damage augments.

The enemies and bosses are either too easy or nearly impossible, no in between. You either barely do scratch damage or curbstomp the enemy.
And by the time you can reliably farm the superbosses who drop the necessary augment materials you don't really need them anymore.

I don't like the "homogenize everything together as fast as possible" approach 3 and XDE have taken. It's really killed a lot of the mystery and hype. It's really starting to show why most legacy RPG series that have lasted as long as they have do unconnected or very loosely connected stories. Because Xenoblade is a fucking mess when you try to start tying things together after 2.

Honestly if the Xenoblade series ended with 2 I'd be fine with it. 3 feels a bit unnecesary.

I've always thought that usually in any game franchise, the first game is usually the best because is the initial idea and story the creators originally wanted to tell and everything after that is an afterthought coming from the success of said first game.

I apply that SPECIALLY to Xenoblade 1. X was so different in every way they just didn't number it and 2, if it weren't for Klaus and the name could easily pass out as an orignial game but still enjoyed it a lot and can see it as a worthy Xenoblade game.

3 just feels like "we gotta close this up SOMEHOW, story pacing be damned". Also the plot feels a bit more convoluted in the effort of tying everything up.
