The title has been worked on under the codename “Chamber”, which works as a clever pun referencing the last name of protagonist Rebecca Chambers, and that voice and performance capture work with new actors for the leads would have begun at some point in 2024.

My low stake conspiracy theory is that one of Nick Apostolides's three AAA mystery projects on his portfolio was playing Leon as a Call of Duty crossover character, but after they cancelled carry forward(and thus would compromise sales/promotions that Capcom was expecting) they kicked it forward to BO7. This is also why the Halloween event in this year's COD is so fucked because they're missing a big gap where Resident Evil would be so they just jammed the Predator, Jason and Chucky right on top of each other to pad for time until BO7 comes out and then they can still launch it close to RE Requiem's release date during what should be BO7's Season 1/Season 2.

I really hope they get rid of the inventory system the original had and just use item boxes. Also coop campaign perhaps? If so then Outbreak remake confirmed, just like you could tell that a lot of the stuff in 8 was a test run for the 4 remake.
