Going back a little earlier, Virtual-On, Virtua Fighter 2 and Sega Rally Championship are some truly beautiful and joyous video games.

Sega Rally Championship in particular blows my mind with how effectively it conveys the sensation of driving over different kinds of terrain, even in the original version of the game that only has digital controls.
Sega has one of the finest catalogs of any video game developer thanks to AM2 and AM3.

Sega's arcade division and console game division were completely different beasts. Occasionally you'd have hands-on console ports or console original games from some arcade teams, but they were pretty rare occasions.
Those arcade teams were real workhorses, and by the time you had one of their games ported, they made like 5 more.
This was during the time you could sell a port of an arcade game for full price. Now I'm just happy they've gotten Model 3 emulation mostly sorted out for the arcades in Yakuza games.

I always just emulate the Saturn version since it's arcade perfect and even has some optional bonus stuff not in the original (e.g. 60 FPS mode). Alternatively, you can buy the SEGA AGES version on Switch if you want to be legitimate and not pirate.
