Mario might be the dullest cast of characters in any successful videogame franchise ever. I think you have to be ill to somehow like Mario more than Sonic. I can't imagine having blander taste. Bottled water is probably your favorite drink too.

Sonic can't beat Mario because Mario is just a blank slate that tendies project upon, while Sonic has to be a character.

Tendies will ALWAYS buy nintendo products. It is their religion. Even if the games are horrible, they simply want to see nintendo's money go up even if it makes themselves miserable.

There always exists a vacuum for attraction and imagination. Mario groids pretend to be above Sonic fans. Sonic fans have heaps of information to pursue and enjoy, on many of their own terms too. Mariogroids do not. They must conjure their own. Nintendo failed to ever cultivate this, and any attempt was subsequently dismissed and discarded. Mariogroids desire this deeply and attempt to tie together disparate elements for any sense of continuity, only for, almost intentionally, having that twine unraveled in the next release. Mariogroids desire a ground they cannot find, they need it and it has caused them to become possessed by a disease, with every Mario release they become more unhinged, more delusional and more disconnected. The Mario movie makes a billion dollars, but not a soul recollects it. Everyone saw it but nobody recalls it. They're making a second one, hard to believe - I know. What will it be about? What does it matter. Mario isn't about anything. What will Sonic 4 be about? People are pining to find out.

The reality is, this dismissive quality that permeates Mario also permeates all Nintendo games. They lack soul and it's obvious. Zelda movie is next, but what will it be about? It doesn't matter. You will see it anyway, even if you remember none of it afterward.

I hate how Sonic “fans” don’t even like Sonic anymore. You see a guy walking down the street wearing a Sonic shirt and you hear his phone’s ring tone being some song from Sonic and Knuckles and then you ask him what’s the last Sonic game he played and like a robot he’ll tell you the last two games he played were Sonic Mania and Sonic Adventure 2 and that he didn’t play Sonic Frontiers but he knows for sure it is irredeemable trash. These people tuned out of the franchise decades ago and they still think their opinions are worth jack shit. And the other half of Sonic fans won’t shut the fuck up about their fanfic comics.
