How did your Gaming habits change
With age?
I stopped playing horror games because they just don't do anything at this point.
I chose shorter games.
If a game gets too hard il put it on easy.

i used to have a policy of "i need to beat the game in order to be able to accurately articulate why i hate it"
now if i think it's bad, i just stop playing, i'd rather talk about things i like

hl2 ep2 is what broke my bad habit, it was a poor enough experience to stop before finishing

I'm the opposite. I'm 25 and I'm more invested in games than before, I'm trying out a lot of genres that didn't appeal to me and find things I enjoy in them, I'm playing older games I've been putting off trying for ages, I can sink +100 hours into a playthrough without realizing it, etc.

I've experienced enough different types of stories and hero's journeys, so I tend to avoid cutscene/movie heavy games. My favorite games these days are ones that focus more on fun gameplay than exposition and bloat. I also know what type of games I like or don't like so I don't fall for flavor-of-the-month games based on other people's hype.

41 here.

I've played vidya since the mid-80s and initially made the decision to skip the current console generation when I sold my PS4.

However, at the current rate I think I'm finally done. I don't see myself returning to video games. There's just nothing worthwhile once you realize they're basically always the same core structures transposed into whatever is trendy at the time. Sure they have nicer graphics and some little gimmick added on top, but essentially it's always the same games over and over and over again.

When I look back I wish I stopped playing in the late 90s and spent my time on self improvement. Hell, even sleeping would have been a more useful way to spend my time.

that's one of the games i stopped because of that and later went back to, but not to be a part of the cultural moment and be able to complain, but to figure out what the fuck happened
it was amazing with like 1 cave map reused 15 times but with different configurations of CONCRETE BLOCKS blockading the doorways, and stuff like the ankle high rocks being too much for your characters to walk over, and the loosey goosey pronunciation of everything with the voice acting
i began imagining the game as a parody, in the same way that the overlord series is a parody, and it somehow became entertaining and i hate it less now (it's still bad though)

>>723677515
it was the car, at the end of episode 2 they bring out the car, i hated the car levels so much in the base game that when they gave me the opportunity to launch it off the cliff with gravity gun i took the oppor-MISSION FAILED YOU NEED TO PARK IT IN A GARAGE SO THE COMBINE DON'T SEE IT
so when i saw the car appear again i just closed the game, i was done, it wasn't very fun up to that point anyway

It's kind of crazy how I used to get scared shitless playing horror games but now I'm in my 30s and just recently played Alan Wake 2 and was literally never afraid not even while the screen was LITERALLY using jumpscares. I actually asked myself if something was wrong with me, but I don't think so since I still get scared IRL like when I'm walking a street in my town, it's silent and suddenly a dog behind some fence I can't see through starts barking at me as I pass so clearly jumpscares work IRL.

I'm 30. There was no watershed moment, but as time has dragged on my gaming cynisism has increased dramatically. I don't even consider playing a game nowadays unless I hear like a month straight of positive word of mouth about it, and even then, I often feel betrayed by you fuckers and your sloppa.
For example, I used to love Mass Effect 2, now I'm playing through it and it just seems so obviously shit. I genuinely can't even understand what the fuck I saw in this game. Mass Effect 1 was still pretty good, but it's showing it's age.

I also don't play games without game play, like walking simulators or visual novels.
>I don't enjoy most retro games.
I played megaman recently (both base and X) and thought they are trash. They were my favorite games in my childhood and teens. Finished all most of them on release.

Back in high school, I played a ton of turn-based JRPGs. Around college age, I got bored of them, and that's when a friend of mine introduced me to bullet hell shmups. Whereas I once preferred 50+ hour games, I then gravitated toward "short but sweet" stuff, ranging from 30-minute shmups to 3-hour "one sitting" games like Vanquish, Sin & Punishment 2, Metal Gear Rising, and Zone of the Enders 2.

I changed my ways when I got my missus pregnant. I put everything aside to get the skills and then get a job. It didn't exactly work out that way. I got several jobs that didn't work out. I am now just a very professional house husband. I homeschool our little one, make meals, do just about every possible thing to raise him the right way. Plus, since the missus works from home, we are never apart. Past that though, my taste hasn't changed in the slightest. Still into fighting games, shooters, rpgs.

7 years ago I tried to get back into WoW (played casually since the end of classic) and I joined some guild and there was a woman discussing being a single mother to a boy and how she hopes that he becomes gay. I said I would disown him. In real life nobody ever talks about this shit and online I'd have to constantly pretend I was okay with all this faggotry so I ended up just quitting all MMORPGs. I cannot stand these people and I cannot stand how fucking gay even the games themselves became. I played The Elder Scrolls Online singleplayer for the story and at some point the expansion content comes in and every second is a fag with 2 fags fucking each other in their faggot assholes and suddenly the story became an allegory for Trump.

I don't have any respect for people who play MMORPGs. You're logging in regularly to rape yourself.

You're not wrong in being skeptical of women today. Marriage is a burden on the man and a guaranteed insurance plan for the woman in which she is rewarded for breaking her vows.
Don't let yourself become a victim of Misandrist bullshit and sexist policy. Enjoy your life at your own terms, not the state's or a woman's. They both hate you, and wouldn't hesitate to take everything away from you for themselves.
