Nothing odd about it, really. Capcom was a pretty small company back then, in terms of who worked there. The whole thing was the same dudes popping up in a lot of projects. If you look through the credits of the capcom games from back then you'll see a lot of the same names. But, yeah, I think DMC1 Dante has more in common with OgRE4 Leon than he does with the other versions of him in the rest of the series. Even Trish shares some of the same general traits in behaviour as Ada.

Albert Wesker. Not even close. Capcom just keeps cooking the coolest designs in the industry.
