I beat Danny Trejo and I dropped it there. The setting is stupid, I don't care about the mom plot, I care less about Tomie than I did Nanba and that's a low bar, and Saeko is a bitch.

I disagree, in a sense. Yakuza 0’s story is still one of the best things RGG made, but in terms of side activities? I think Infinite Wealth’s are better.

I think just calling kriyu part of the game is understating it, he saves japan and the ex-yakuza from his metaphorical cancer while ichiban takes down some random cult who was just formally introduced like 10 hours ago for the dream of his mother? Who he's met once?
Kriyu is the only part of 8 that makes sense while ichi is somekind of fast track flanderized side show of mental gymnastics.

It does character writing surgery on Kiryu so I am forced to love it even if they sort of fuck over Ichiban and the rest, I forgive RGG studios for making Kiryu into a punching bag in the last few Kiryu games because of it.
