having to make difficult character building decisions is kryptonite to shitters so every rpg has to bend over backwards with 50 gorillion respec and character edits

No there wasn't. They had plans to have gender specific equipment and needed to give you a way to re-spec your character just like you can change all your stats with Soul Vesals.
In the end only 1 armor set has gender specific mechanics, but they definetly wanted more at some point
>japanese game >from early 2010s >it MUST be for troons
Do you underages even have the capability of interpreting context or do you just immediately respond to any stimuli like an insect

Forcing you to play through the game every time you wanna try a different build is a monumental waste of time and totally pointless, respecs are the shit.

That's it really, DS2's development is a well known mess.

After playing Nioh 2, I'm convinced that there's no reason that a game with a character creator shouldn't let you just completely change your character whenever you want and for free (looking at you, Monster Hunter).

If it's a great game then you don't need to replay it for the builds, you replay it cause it's a great game. The respecs are there so you can experiment and pvp without spending hundreds of hours replaying the game just to change some stats around.

I liked it in Saints Row 2 and 3. It requires money, but so little that it's basically free. Allowing the player to completely customize their character goes hand-in-hand with the whole sandbox aspect of the game and mission & cutscene replay feature.

they probably weren't thinking, and just intuitively decided to associate a coffin with transgenderism
they were accidentally based on an instinctual level
incredible

Nah, it's less meaningful if you can just change it at any time. You should only be able to change things you could realistically change, like hairstyle.
