I just finished replaying DS2 today. I think playing with low vitality made it really interesting, I felt way less tanky this playthrough than I remembered being in all of my previous playthroughs, but the fact I wasn't concerned with upgrading my armor probably didn't help either. I went with low Vitality so I could properly use Flynn's Ring (which is an oddly worded ring, it gives you +50damage so long as your Equip Load TOTAL is under 60. So, you are forbidden from having a Vitality stat beyond 10; according to the wiki). You can still wear a lot of armor, but heaviest stuff is off limits unless you want to fat roll.

DS2 is really the direction they should've gone with the series. Stamina management really matters. You have to attack and dodge wisely because stamina regens so damn slow. I like the strategy involved with it. You aren't just dodging and R1'ing like mad.

The game was originally meant to be mostly pitch black and you had to light torches but they pulled the idea at the last minute, you were never meant to be able to see the textures like that

But most importantly you can create a character where stamina and regen are strengths. min-maxing stamina and vitality so that your stamina bar is halfway across the screen and refills in like 2 second from being fully depleted because your equip load is low. Pair with powerstance daggers or fists and you really can just dodge and R1 like mad.

I don't remember a single time where stamina management was an issue other than Frozen Outskirts and I often play heavy ass ultra greatswords.
Let's be honest here, you're just too slow and struggle to keep up with the other games that require more mechanical execution so you're trying to convince yourself that DaS2 is tactical, slow and methodical

i believe talking about DS2 is the best way to spot a specific kind of people, the biggest contrarians retards, i think DS2 is a fun game, but to say it's the best and not just that, but also call it "peak souls 2" or "kino souls 2" as soon as there's a discussion about souls games is beyond ridiculous
