I would be but there is no reason for me to buy a Switch 2. DK is the only other good game on it right now. As much as I'd like to play online City Trial, there just isn't a reason to get it right now. Plus with what's happening in Europe, might as well hold out as there will be a price drop eventually, either from retailers being overstocked or Nintendo finally realizing they can't sit on the maybe 10 million Nintendo diehards that will buy something because it has "Nintendo" on the box.

Switch 1 had way more games coming out on it. ARMS, Splatoon 2 (online was free then), Mario and Xenoblade. There was also BoTW. It was on the Wii U but most people didn't have one and the Switch allowed you to play it on the go (something that isn't novel anymore). Switch 1 has three games and a fuck ton of ports. There also isn't anything coming out on the horizon. Mind you, Switch was way cheaper as were the games and accessories. Switch was a much easier buy than Switch 2 will ever be.

In any case, 4 months into Switch 1's lifetime there were less interesting things to play than there currently are on Switch 2.

I get that it's more expensive. I haven't bought one myself, but the game situation is even slightly better. And about incoming games, we only know about games that will come until december, and I'd already am interested in Bananza and Air riders. MP4 too if i didn't get it before on switch. Let's see what's happening during 2026 because we don't know much yet and they obviously have stuff.

My sister pre-ordered the game for me for my birthday and I am very excited due to the fact that Smash hands down had the best amiibo support and it looks like we're getting another replica of figure players with this, the "learning" and all.

This is a pretty big double standard. Apply this same argument to the Switch 1 and you'll remember that by this point in its lifespan it had TWO games and "a fuck ton of ports." Yes, most people didn't have a Wii U, but if you're counting a simultaneous multi-system release like BOTW regardless then there's no basis to count it as a feather in the Switch 1's cap while not counting (for example) a simultaneous Switch 2 edition release like Z-A for the Switch 2. Odyssey didn't release until seven months after the Switch 1 and Xenoblade 2 was nine months.

What timeframe are you referring to by the horizon here? They already have five exclusives announced for 2026 or beyond, not including The Duskbloods or Mario Wonder's Switch 2 version/DLC.

You do realize the Switch 2 will be 9 months old next March right? The only other game we're getting after Kirby would be Mario Tennis Fever so yeah its pretty easy to see how Switch 1 had the better line up.

On BoTW, the other system it was on was the Wii U which wasn't a portable system. It was also the same price on both systems. So there was already a reason to get a Switch with BoTW over just buying the Wii U version. This isn't true for Switch 2 because all of the ports can be played portable on either the Switch 1 or the Switch 2, not to mention the ports are more expensive on Switch 2. Switch 1 plus Zelda is $140 cheaper than Switch 2 plus Pokemon (which is dog shit so who cares). I don't get why people have to do out of their way to defend this dogshit system.

I would bet they do it early next week, or even early the week after. I imagine it will be centered around the reveal of a "major" mode, hopefully something more substantial than WoL was. If not, I do wonder where the 3+ years of dev time went. This is gonna be the longest dev cycle of any of Sakurai's games ever, starting in April 2022.
