Unironically this, though. GMS has a consistent and predictable pattern of attacks. The biggest threat is her web attack, which is the most RNG-y of her attacks, and most of the time there'll be a gap in the web close enough to you that you can and the three mask hit.

Everything else is just jumping out of the way. You can use clawline to easily avoid her horizontal nail attacks and jump over her swipe attack, then just hit her during idle cycles. As long as you're not greedy, you shouldn't have any trouble with her first phase.

Second phase is a lot more hectic with the addition of falling rocks which block the middle of the screen, but as long as you're patient and just wait for them to pass before trying to attack, you can just whittle her down.

As with every other boss in the game up to this point, your aggression will be punished. Take your time, play evasively and you will win.

They needed to completely change the layout of the map for Act 3. Retain some familiar areas but make it a new exploration challenge. The only new area to explore is the rest of Hunters March and that's just a straight line spur off of the statue room.

They also needed to give a more meaningful benefit to clearing void masses. It's great that not every enemy in a room starts voided after you destroy it, but maybe reduce the overall incidence of void enemies in the world as you destroy them.

Wouldn't surprise me if Karak was originally supposed to be act 3 only with all the gauntlets being spread out over the area and the tower only having the final gauntlet and boss fight, back when it had the coral biome. The number of unlockable shortcuts in the area match up, because you have the one at the bottom of the central corridor, one on the far right with the bench, and one at the top of the central corridor that involves knocking the stalactite down like the shortcut in the finished Coral Tower dream world. In a vacuum yes, but since Wanderer builds silk so much faster on top of it because of the swing speed, and the general better utility of its down-pogo, I say Wanderer still wins out bigly. IMO if you could do both down- and diagonal-pogos on Hunter, changing nothing else, it would be a match for Wanderer in casual play because that one moveset diff is the big difference maker for casual play. You'd trade less consistently high damage and silk for the best aerial moveset in the game.

I think Herrah only bred with the Silent King because it was a way to extract value out of him, and had him over a barrel since he wanted her to help bind the Hollow Knight and contain the Radiance. Since Weavers are semi-divine through GMS' silk, the chance to breed with a pale being is a lot more enticing than with a common bug which she undoubtedly thought herself better than.

If she'd had any interest in continuing her line otherwise, the existence of Widow and the other half- and quarter-breed Weaverspawn suggests it wouldn't have been an issue. This is likely the case with most of the Weavers that fled Pharloom.

She stayed loyal to GMS and was punished for it by the other Weavers. Eva unlocks are directly tied to every slot you unlock OUTSIDE of the Hunter's Crest.
IE: every time you get a new crest, you unlock 4 points of Eva progress. For each Memory Locket you invest into every crest other than Hunter, that's another point.
Ergo, investing even a single memory Locket into Hunter is inhibiting your progress in any of the 4 Eva upgrades, 2 of which directly improve the Hunter Crest.

All three silk hearts are found in places with a high concentration of silk. The bellways because they used to funnel pilgrims to the Citadel, so lots of built up silk from that. The Whiteward pits because fucking duh that one should be obvious. And Lace because she's the one made of silk and sustained off it, especially in the Cradle which is GMS' resting spot.

Too many of the rewards are shell shards, or rosary amounts that are always inferior to what you can farm in the Choral Chambers within a minute. The double boss fight in Hunter's March gives you a reward that takes like 30s of grinding in easier areas. There is absolutely the issue of the game being so big that TC haven't come up with enough unique rewards for everything so they compromised with currency. Yet they also had to keep the currency rewards minimal in order to preserve the idea of scarce economy for the player.

There's a room in the citadel that has a cart that you can hit and push around. Was there anything in that room? I don't remember if there was something I picked up there or if it's just an empty room

I was dreading a ton of THAT parts in the replay but you're so fucking good at the game that playing it is a complete breeze. Comfy even compared to how infuriating the first playthrough can get.

You have to clear pantheons with bindings. If I recall correct you don't have to take bunch at once (aside from saving time) and can just do them one at a time, for example clear the first pantheon with just nail binding, then just soul binding, then mask binding and then charm binding, and it'll count as 4 pips.
