I only felt that because it was the first fantasy series i read, looking back its a pretty lame series. Mat and Thom are the only cool characters.
>>723759612
They are meh, if you are still invested in the story i'd say finish it but its not worth rereading everything just for them.

People absolutely love them. Personally I thought the first Sanderson was atrociously awful. Extreme good vs evil trope ruining characters. Book 2 and 3 are much better but both more woke and Perrin focused so still a downgrade. That said the end was great so...

Well I agree on the only good characters, plus Verin, I wouldnt call it lame. It had a boomer comfyness to it, no matter how much he meandered.
Also the brutal hangover is from the crazy long investment the series is. Its longer than diskworld. There are 2 longer series I think, but not if you only include 100k ratings on goodreads.

With how many times the game tricks you into believing it's going to be the end, only for there to be more. Getting to the actual end really left me empty.

Most good games, I get anxious the closer I get to finishing one i'm really enjoying because I don't want it to be over.

>>723759885
If we're talking the original sure, there was quite a bit of soul and mystery that made you want more.
And then you got more in the sequels and it just wasn't as good.

>>723768152
The game was satisfying to finish, the emptiness was only because I was just shown THAT at the end and wanted more.

> want a cool 10 second scene
> build 3 animatronic heads hooked up to an early computer so they all go through the same set of motions for easier compositing
> make 3 masks of varying levels of decomposition, which are also chemically set up to actively degrade during shooting
> get antique clothing experts from the smithsonian to help make 3 sets of steadily degrading clothing
> film all 3 heads going through the articulated motions
> use a computer, in 1988, to digitally composite the three takes over eachother in a staggered way, a process that took upwards of 9 hours per FRAME
> for a single 10 second long scene
They genuinely do note make them like they used to.

Seconding this. Any Icepick Game except for CARGO! will do though: Pathologic 1, 2, The Void, Know By Heart, I'd argue even Knock-Knock! will make you feel that way, though I get why most people would not get behind the last one.

Also, Cryostasis, Penumbra Overture+Black Plague and Bastion. All three have some of the best, most clever and most "touching" endings I've seen in games.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War post-patches that removed the retarded mtx system.
It's laughably fanficy in how it tries to fit with the movies' lore, but i have to admit it did felt liberating finishing the game and knowing Talion could finally move on.
That sequel bait at the end of the Elthariel DLC though feels so random, not sure why they couldn't let also Celebrimbor die.
