Nah, the core concept was good, but the execution was lacking. The weapons and abilities are unbalanced. The variations are too little. The story was pretty meh aside from the incest vibes.

game is too ambitious. even a point and click with time shit is ambitious. somehow the stealth didnt carry anything decent from the former games even mechanically. they also cant into itemization so a roguelike was out of the question.

they did a patchwork of three different games which they couldnt even make a single of them. the multiplayer adds up another layer of excess ambition, plus it lagged pretty bad and was badly designed. either you make them storng but you mus make the gam eeasy, or you make them weak but even weak if the game is hard they can throw the thing. the concept itself is very difficult. they could have had fights like lock the villain bases and utilize the whole bas efor a multi shootout with aplayer withseveral lives too.

they took the most ambitious genre and added the most ambitious flavor there is, time shit, different branches etc. just ridiculous. also cartoony visual, many things that were just "there" and a lack of meaning overall

these games are turning into parodies of themselves, with no difficulty where you basically choose which cutscene you re going to play

dark messiah could get away with it because it had appealing fantasy, soundtrack, sourc ephysics, lots of breakable shit and good visual/colours from old school engine.

anyway its still pretty good game, but unrealized, and pretty good isnt enough to make it big no matter the skin colour of the hero.

i think replacing arkane director with a white guy would have increased the sales more instead. KEK

Not ambitious enough. It either needs to do something very clever with the time loop or give us some freedom about what we do. It's 100% linear with the loop mechanic only really being there to waste your time.

mooncrash is a dlc with probably barley any marketing and it was far from perfect still plenty of way to go

they dont have the balls to make an actua full fledged roguelike and they know it they re afraid which is why they keep tiptoeing around

the concept of the game is interesting but it's a huge letdown once you figure out that it just wants you to figure out the right map sequence and then the games over. even without le nigger debuff it doesn't have much going for it.

You don't figure it out really, and that's part of the problem. It spoonfeeds you almost the whole thing because they rightfully presumed their average player couldn't handle even having to read a timeline of who is where when.

Yeah, the pitch of it being just a really big Hitman styled map on a timer had a lot of potential. But then you realize there's only one or two spots to kill somebody, if you're lucky and it loses a lot of its shine. Couple that with its Dishonored style powers being super lack luster, and all of the weapons being fairly basic guns and you have an extremely okayish expierence.

This would be one of the shortest games I ever played if not for the repeating old areas gimmick -- why is this a gimmick? It's not even like backtracking because they're individualized fucking maps with constant load screens.

I'm convinced since Dishonored got as big as it did, Arkane fanboys just love pure garbo slop and Deathloop is proof of this -- I say this as an unironic Arx Fatalis fanboy, because Deathloop is literally just Dishonered but with ugly black people. (Oh wait isn't that Dishonored 2?)

I go from using stealth for 10 seconds to clear out a few enemies (because stealth is barely encouraged and then you can find broken shit powers like being able to become invisible, but then you can succeed at most of the game by doing the bare minimum), then go full FPS mode where enemies will just stand in place not doing anything sometimes -- it's worse designed than any Ubisoft game I've ever played.

It only having one actual solution to beating the game was a huge letdown. Would have been cool to have different alternate setups to killing all the visionaries in one week and seeing how everyone else finished their games compared to yours. Then there'd be more of a reason to replay it and go for different routes.

the worst instance is the manor of the starting zone with the party. you going unde ror some shit i dont remember but you can basically skip the whole zone and if anything you re encouraged to do that the first time so why even bother with anything afterwards

its not like you ll unlock shit for the story, new branches, new informationyou can use of whatever.

im shitting a lot on the game but i really had fun playing it. its just that its terribly half assed and probably overly ambitious

all their games ar elike that recently they say gameplay/difficulty is secondary becaus eits hard to make and they dont have the skills to do it, they r enot nerdy enough, so they say they prefer "choices" etc, but it becomes basically pickign a cutscene. its their philosophers its not managers. too many passes and lost information, arkane is a parody now

invisibilty plus a silent gun that has the little explosion effect was way too good of a combo that anything else was pointless. what it really needed was a demerit on using the same weapon and powers too many times in a row so you were forced to change it up
if fuckdaughter told the people how to counter you and then hunted you based on your setup, that could work out.

prey tried to be a system shock 3 and was aimed for that tiny immersive sim audience
deathloop was aimed for the broader audience and tried to appeal to every mouthbreathing retard that can afford to buy a game. they didn't care and it was no longer appealing to the people that would have actually wanted to play it

It's not a blaxploitation movie. There is nothing about the blaxploitation genre in this game. In fact there is nothing about race in this game whatsoever.

It's like saying wow Ninja Gaiden was pretty good but it should have leaned more into the Greek Mythology.

This too, the "antagonist" cast are all pretty interesting and your only way to interact with them is to setup elaborate scenes to kill them or get them out of the story, it doesn't have nearly the same depth as Dishonored where you can talk with some of them or there are complex circumstances allowing you to elimate them without killing them
tldr game is kinda just shit
