I think everyone agrees if you want to play vanilla or "vanilla plus" with a small group then bedrock is objectively better. Especially if you are going to play like a casual.

But I met some cons in the vanilla playthrough. Because of redstone difference most farms don't work for bedrock. It DOES have the advantage of the trident killer which is fucking broken and very easy to exploit, but at the same time an iron farm is way harder for example.

It also lacks some features such as sweeping to attack or off-hand items (and I have no idea why Microsoft refuses to bring these features to Bedrock, what a bizarre decision, sweeping especially would play way better with controllers)

But the modding problem can't be understated. Modding in bedrock is BAD. Atrocious. There is no reliable source for mods, and the marketplace is 90% premium.

In new vegas, I change my UI depending on the type of character I'm playing. If I'm playing as a science and medicine based build, I use the blue UI. If I'm playing as a morally grey gunslinger type, default orange. If I'm playing as an energy weapon user, green. If I'm playing someone especially pure hearted (Usually unarmed or melee) I go for white.

Both also have strangely different mechanics for random shit, with some being tiny and some being pretty important
Some examples as to what's in bedrock:

I doubt there's anything resembling an internal knowledgebase for the game. I remember hearing that Jeb had written some design docs, but not really anything close to a KB at all.

I have to imagine rewriting a game like minecraft in a different language is actually fucking awful. especially since half the mechanics are side-effects of the engine or java and weren't actually intentional. God only knows how many hardcoded magic numbers there are in the code
