ai was all fine besides the rocketeer and the rocketeer is only a problem because the majority of people were going in with shit gear. you can down it with a single show stopper.
i think the only real problem with the rocketeer is how quiet it is which makes it so you can just accidently run into it.
it should make some sort of hum or chirp so you know it's around so you can avoid it when you're in shit gear. the other mini boss ai's like the leaper and bastion all make noises so you know they're around, but the rocketeer is a lot stronger than those two.

I bought it after the server slam, It had its up and downs. I think it'll remain kind a fun challenge to play it until you have a levelled up base.

Once everyone has everything unlocked the looting will basically be pointless, no one will bother with it, they'll just go and kill other people and steal their loot instead, it'll end up 100% toxic PvP and average players or worse (like me) will end up quitting in about 3 months. I think I can get my moneys worth in that time.

They had to pay most of the streamers to play, I did notice all the bigger streamers getting hosed in most of their matches despite premades with some of the best shots in vidya. I think it goes to show loot gear and skill mismatch will be king with such a high TTK and 3rd person.

If matchmaking at launch day isn't extremely on point, it'll lose most of its playerbase inside 2 weeks.

I jumped in The Finals first time since the end of season 1 and holy shit is the game bad now.

The robots are neat. It's cool that they're actually a huge pain in the ass, makes for more emergent gameplay. It's crazy fun when you have 3 squads fighting and shit goes totally sideways cus a rocketeer or leaper showed up randomly

I warmed up to it over the weekend, but I think I'll wait to see if/when they introduce inventory/crafting qol improvements. At the very least, saved loadouts would be a lifesaver. Having now watched videos of prior tests, it baffles me even more why they kept us stuck on a shitty swamp map with poverty gear for a glorified free weekend. Also, I don't think I got a single night or lightning storm event, and I played an embarrassing amount this weekend.

Somewhat unrelated, but was the research tower cheese not a thing in prior tests? I noticed that youtubers who had made previous videos on the game seemed to not know about it at the beginning of the tech test. Seems like something that would be common knowledge before the weekend if it was a thing. If not, it kinda makes me think the devs introduced the "exploit" to highlight how freeform the movement can be, which is pretty clever if true.

The game lists the SMGs as light penetration against Arc, you need something like the 1 shot rifle. Aiming for engines send them off balance so they can't hit you. You actually need to use cover.

There's a wide range of Arc with a wide degree of varying strength, they're designed to mix up the constant PvP in the game and to do that they have to pose a challenge.

The rocket launcher versions are designed to be tough and avoided, you need a whole team of 3 ideally in the server slam, taking it on alone is insane. The Arc are designed to be relevant to the game, and that means making them tough and not just an annoyance. There's tons of little roomba ones and tiny spiders to kill solo for Arc alloy etc.

Yeah nah fuck that shit, it's a game that makes nobody happy.
PvP boils down to 3rd person corner peeking where you'll eventually attract an arc or another player and get shot from behind. Just wear the heaviest armour and always use medium/heavy bullets, hardly any reson to use light ammo weapons.
PvE instead boils down to aggroing an arc which then in turn attracts even more annoying ass robots and best of all, more players. Avoiding them is hard since their scanning range is retarded huge and they won't loose aggro for like MINUTES after loosing sightline of you. The loot you gather? all boring junk and you WILL have to grab it because of the crafing mechanics back at the base. This game doesn't apease PvP or PvE players. Only positive is that it looks and runs good but that's it.

Like, I enjoy PvE, doing harder maps with harder PvE encounters makes sense but not when you'll just get third manned and looted by players?

And if you're skirting the PvE and just looting things to extract, how long will it take or why would you keep going once you max your talents and workshops and have the best nodded guns?
Like if you're kind of locked out of PvE due to the player griefing part, you're just left with looting and that's an experience that's shallow outside of progression?

If you spray at them you'll likely hit some of each part and they seem a lot tougher.

With the larger drones they have armour plates on the rotors that you can knock off so you need to be even more precise with your shots.

There's stationary models of them in the shooting range which opens up as a map after a few rounds, they allow you to test hitting the weak spots.

Weapons with med or high Arc armour penetration is a must, even the 1 shot rifle I think is only medium, so the moment you can craft slightly better guns and know exactly where to shoot the easier they are.

Probably for longevity. Besides the visual downgrade that did happen, some of the larger changes is to repairing durability. Before it was just cash, now repairing shields/guns takes parts and you probably can't use the really fun/good weapons too much before you run out of resources repairing this shit every few raids. That being said Tarkov is pretty much the only extraction shooter that benefits from a PvE mode because there's a lot of systems beyond just shooting people and even then it's an inferior experience to GAYMMA. Hunt, Arc Raiders, Dark and Darker etc. would need massive overhauls to be actually good in PvE, so there's no point in badgering devs to shoehorn a mode that would end up being boring shit the same way HL: Alyx has no point if it's not played in VR. im not sure you know how anti-cheat programs actually work but ill humour you.

There's a number of ways they might be planning on handling cheaters. Anti-cheat programs have 2 major utility functions.
>1. Ban cheaters when they detect it
>2. Collect data on all users during play, that can be used to discover the latest cheating methods.

Its entirely on them as to how they're gonna approach detecting and banning cheaters. But if i were them, i would wait roughly ~3-5 days after launch, collect as much data on the existing cheaters as possible, not ban anyone in the server slams (cuz they play for free why bother), figure out at least 2-3 different types of cheating/hacking, then mass ban all of them once they're past the refund stage.

They would actively be hurting their future chances for success, by banning cheating programs before launch right now, so the people who code said cheats get a head-start on what to avoid when patching their cheats. Policing it right now would be a terrible idea and would increase the griefing at launch.

Your gear has a rating and is matched with other players with similar gear, also we played on the defacto poverty map, the rest of the maps are going to have even harder PVE with much better loot and higher stakes. This game is casual in a good way and if you just want to keep Ferromaxxing with a poverty loadouts you'll be able to do that since you get matched with other poverties

Stalcraft X does it and it's fucking fantastic. When it bips up, it raises tension and if you're taken by surprise, it's your fault. It solves the worst part of extraction shooters which is you getting shot in the back by some camper who stayed 20 minutes in the same place waiting for someone to pass by. Recent AC technologies like IOMMU and TPM allow ACs to apply sticky bans to cheaters, so they'd have to buy a whole new CPU if they wanted to cheat again.

My friend and I tried it this weekend. Despite deciding to run at every gun shot we heard, and only look for fights, we only found people to fight in half of our games. Almost all the loot is just trash, even the purples, so you can't get excited for picking stuff up. It just wasn't fun.
