All of the themes capture different emotions and have their own character

Lampmaster theme captures the essence perfectly - spooky, ethereal, and haunting
"Une vie a t'aimer" is an argument between male and female vocalists echoing the in-game conflict
Monoco is playful and upbeat with jazzy saxophone
Globu is EDM because he's, uh, EDM?

In any other game he'd be a pretty boring side character it's just that the rest of the cast is so poorly-drawn that the one that's just kind of a bloke comes across as particularly likeable. I don't know why people praise the story in this game when outside the prologue there's like a couple interesting scenes at the end of Act 2 and that's it, and the actual character writing is shit and makes it impossible to care what happens to any of these fuckers besides, ironically, the one character they pull a cheap death on

I took it to be literally a piece of his soul, like a Painter in the world has 100 pieces of soul, and each painting they make takes some portion of it, with the only way you can reclaim it is by erasing the canvas

By the time you get to act 3 you want him using a free aim build. Renoir says she spent too much time there, not that she never left. She did in fact, take breaks, on which Renoir did try to hide, but we know Renoir was there spoiling her fun from the beginning because her breaks weren't enough. I've never really seen anyone point out that Monoco/Noco and the river of life shit with the gestrals is just child verso interpreting the way his family deals with the loss of their dogs, where they just get a new one as the older one ages and the replacement looks and acts the same because it's a dog of the same breed (and they even call them all Monoco/Noco too) but they're not the same. It also reflects Monoco and Noco trading places as parent/child.

I wonder how the war even works between the painters and writers.

Do they bring shit out of the worlds they create or do they bring people in?

>Writers write books you can go into and experience as a full world
>Painters paint paintings of worlds you can go into
>Composers create worlds that only exist as long as the music is play. The vibrations caused by the instruments such as a violin create the world. But that's just a theory. A string theory if you will.
>Photographers capture a piece of the real world and create a copy of it you can go into. The photographed people have the memories and personalities of the real people but have no idea they're just a copy in a fake world. If they find out then from their point of view it's as though they've just been walking along and suddenly found themselves trapped in a picture.

There are two possibilities. Renoir wants his wife out. Does he:
>go in during one of her frequent breaks, when he could easily destroy the painting without any resistance, or even just torch it without having to go inside?
or
>go in while she's in there so that he could fight her, for no conceivable reason besides being a huge dick?
Can you tell me why you think he chose the second one?

If we accept that the scene where Alicia talks to Clea in front of the canvas is in the "real" world, then painters can definitely do some at least minor magic irl. Floating canvases n shiet aint mundane.

Renoir isn't saying he's a good person. He recognizes that killing the people in the painting is wrong.
He just doesn't care because his wife and daughter are more important to him than anything else. If he had to, he'd kill a million people in the REAL world just to save his family.
Anonymous No.723774118 [Report] >>723774228

He would actually argue and discuss with the group instead of leading then on like Verso does, and even when he was unsure about what to do next he would just say whatever was the most logical step to take.
He would also share trivia about older expeditions and be the butt of the jokes sometimes and take it like a good sport.

Verso couldn't do most of it because he already knew every answer and he was instead always trying to deflect and avoid subjects. He didn't care much about the other expeditioneers either and any fact he did know from the past, he would keep it to himself unless it was something that wouldn't reveal anything about himself or his family or the nature of the world.

Basically the journey was a lot more light hearted while Gustave was leading the group, and it turned very somber when Verso took over, even though right at the start of the expedition almost everyone dies right away and Gustave almost kills himself, they pick themselves up and are looking a very lively group by the end of part 1.

When? He disagreed with Lune once and stormed off to get Maelle (and was right) and got steamrolled in every other disagreement and then died.

Probably because the main character fucking died. There's a huge difference between NPCs dying and finding out even your own characters are vulnerable.

That is the entirety of other gestral's character (in addition to "im dumb lmao"). I loved the gestrals, but they were what they were, a cute mascot race. Monoco had to be elevated to be worthy of being a party member.

But they are real, in every way that matters
They may not be flesh, but they have their own motivations, their own personalities, their own emotions
And the emotions you feel for them are just as real as they would be for flesh and bone people

If you can't tell the difference between a painted person and a flesh and blood person, there is no difference between them
