Because it's a thread about actual vidya and vidya discussion without any kind of flamewar bait. That doesn't fit /v/ standards
For example, if OP wanted Harvest Moon discussion to happen in some extent(you can want a proper discussion but that's not an option on /v/), he should make one of the following
>"Why is Stardew Valley so much better than any Harvest Slop? None of the games fucking reach indie game's standards kek"
>"Is this series good or pozzed?"
>(Waifucoomerism)
>(The pic of mayor throwing you out from the village in 1st Harvest Moon) "Vidya devs have always hated incels, deal with it chud"
>(Same as above)
>Game punishes you for not being a coomer
>"Other games like this?"
>(Any kind of Twitter post relating to Harvest Moon from literal who and preferably some kind of idpol/flamewar-bait comment)
So I'll recommend that kind of threads if you want others to talk about Harvest Moon with you.
Is it fucking horrible and shit way to discuss anything? Yes, of course. But you don't have much choice on /v/. Nobody cares about vidya discussion. And this isn't the usual "Hahaha /v/ likes no gaems xD" kind of thing, but majority, like 60-70% of this board treats /v/ as their Twitter/Facebook/Reddit or any other social media platform. And as they are anonymous and barely any off-topic discussion gets you a ban they just spend more time on that.
Anons don't come here to discuss games specifically. That's the problem.
Anyway I like Tree of Tranquility the most because teenage years and first "proper" experience with romance in vidya. I got the game for like 20€ at GameStop.
Fun memories.
