Has Destiny ruined people's lives?
genuinely wondering, has Destiny been beneficial to anyone's life, besides fun and social connections? Think about it group by group.
>Youtubers/Streamers, literally none of them became anything more than a "destiny content" creator, likely paid well but when the game does die that is it for them.
>Developers, years worth of work is inaccessible and due to being a game dev they are paid less than anyone else in the tech sector.
>Players, repeatedly have had to beg/bully Bungie into not making a bad decision or reversing them, had had entire months/years of the games life being shit [D2Y1 for example]
>Bungie itself as a company, 2013 reboot caused an exodus of staff that didn't stop until 2015, also again 2017-2019 content has been deleted, repeated reputation hits, and yet another staff exodus this time due to mass lay offs.
>Destiny as a franchise, literally no one gives it any respect due repeated controversy.
>Sony, left holding the 3.7 Billion dollar bag.
>Activision, was happy to split which says volumes.
>Wasted Paul McCartney's time
>Joe Staten, absolutely punished

I'm truly not shitposting, did anyone actually gain anything from Destiny aside from the C-suite getting golden parachutes. It's at the point I have no idea if this franchise has ever made a profit, only by technicality due to the Sony buy out.

Well their last hurrah will be a shitty extraction shooter that will flop so finally bungie can be laid to rest

>forgot Destiny was even a game franchise and thought OP was talking about the streamer
what's the most recent thing they've done, anyway?

all time low player counts and sentiment. Player numbers across all platforms is public information, those who are still playing are frustrated with pretty much all the new systems introduced in the newest expansion a large portion of which have already been reverted. Mixed opinions on the upcoming honest to god Star Wars crossover expansion.

t. been following the Bungie implosion as it's a fascinating story.

Not reading all that shit
Destiny "devs" are all incompetent bastards that deserve what happened to them
Fanbase told them MULTIPLE TIMES to not listen to streamers because they'll just jump ship when the game gets stupidly tedious, and guess what happened?

Reverted all retarded changes they did with their last dlc
Brought something back from D1 called Plagueland without the "plague" part, since for some reason they REALLY hate SIVA and the whole season is all about how SIVA is dead and gone forever(but please ignore ""the villain"" that can asspull shit off different timelines/dimensions)
Instead they want to push this "quicksilver" thing that is forever associated with the abomination called Nimbus don't look up the VA

I don't think they're listening to anyone anon, even streamers weren't advocating for anything that was changed with edge of fate.

didn't read the rest, have never played destiny in my life, but if someone had fun playing the game then it was probably worth it

destiny showed that they were a lot more competent than microsoft at making games. halo's bungie era was magical, then as soon as bungie left, microsoft bungled that IP harder than anyone could have possibly imagined. halo is a smoking crater of irrelevance, no gen z or gen alpha person has a single positive memory of halo. no-one under the age of 30 has any kind of emotional association with halo other than second-hand hearing some crusty millenial talking about how much fun he had playing halo in prehistoric times

like sure, there's plenty of criticism you could have for bungie, but I think looking at what microsoft did with halo is a great way to see how much worse things could be

Twitter is full of post about these asslicking retards praising bungie for what they did with portal/new system, with their retarded cattle of fans parroting everything
only to do a 180° because they were losing viewers and everyone was bitching about it
Lets not forget that any kind of nerf always came from streamers bitching about the average players would be able to simply ATTEMPT day 1 raids
I'm pretty sure they nerfed well of radiance so much that at one point you could get instakilled by bosses splash damage while you were inside

>youtubers amd streamers deserve that
>considering the shit they make they shouldnt be paid at all
>they can just uninstall and stop playing the game and do literally anything else
>play shitty games win shitty prizes, they have always been a bad company with no real direction
>eh blizzard recovered from cosby rape room and hundreds of sexual harrasment lawsuits, same with riot, just brush tge contreversies under a rug and never acknowledge them
>boohoo sony lost money buying a shitty company thats known for being shit
>it kinda does
>probably got paid millions so couldnt care less
>joe staten schmoe schmaten

>every dev that got a big name from working on DOOM has had a respectable career
>every dev that got a big name from working on Halo either had the Bungie, the industry, or life itself, burn them.
2000s Bungie was something special.

The game just oozes with ''throw money and big names at wall and see if it sticks'' vibe.
It was always just a super safe attempt at starting a new big franchise

Sony actually paying close to 4 billion dollars for Destiny is mind-numbingly retarded.

It's interesting how so many people who quit Destiny 2 talk about it similarly to quitting heroin. I don't see that much with other addicting online games.
>>723790557
To be fair, I'm confident that there was some CONSIDERABLE book-cooking on Bungie's side after Microsoft said "absolutely not, you retards burn money way too fast even by our standards". Though that still makes Sony mind-numbingly retarded for not seeing that as a huge red flag.

perhaps the game as it released was, but franchise planning in 2008-2013 was much more ambitious.

Destiny 2 changed my life for good.

After vaulting content I had paid for, I have never, ever again given money to a GaaS (Game as a Shit), or wasted hours of my life in it.

I'm so glad the content-vaulting is biting them in the ass in court, especially for a case that shouldn't otherwise be too hard for a corporate legal team to beat.

I just don't get the DCV, I can't imagine the devs were happy of that
