Games used to come in big boxes that contained:
- A thicc manual
- Another, even more thicc manual if the game was REALLY good
- The game itself on a CD or multiple CDs, or floppies if it was older
- A big map of the world
- A poster with game art
- Stickers or trinkets
- Registration card

(You) have no idea. Games to you are intangible abstractions, but for us it was something more. Something special.

Games also used to look like shit, play like shit, and generally were shit. Why do you think they loaded (YOU) with so much garbage. Nobody cares about physical. Everyone in the 30+ age bracket is happy shit is digital now because you no longer have to store it or take care of it. Games are on demand on your ssd. If you were actually around back then, especially during the cartridge era you'd understand this.

Firstly no, the vast majority of people that played PC games got them for free on burned floppies/CDs and people would even buy literal big ass phone books of serial codes to crack games. Secondly, collectors editions exist today and will continue to exist because secondary revenue sources are insanely lucrative. Thirsly, you have shit taste in games. Fourthly, this is off topic and belongs on >>>/vr/
