Most NES games add unplayable except for the most popular ones, and even those are hard (except for like Kirby's Adventure). They really didn't know what they were doing. You can go through the Rom catalog and play a random game and they're all the same.

Back when that videogame gauntlet thing was popular on /v/ and /vr/, I consistently had the most difficulty with the SNES and Genesis.

Try reinstalling them, making sure to check the "easy mode" checkbox on the installation wizard. The included Ask.com toolbar can also be useful if you need gameplay tips.
