One of the worst progressions of a game I've ever Introducing a main story really killed a lot of it for me. Even worse that they made it mandatory to explore. Are mods any good? As in alt progression type mods or overhaul ones.

Big fat nothing, that's what happened. Florans exist, but mostly keep to themselves. Nuru shows up to help sort some shit out with a conflict between humans and florans due to the result of one hyper aggro floran, and there's some very minor plot- but it's all mostly just an Advance Wars clone, and not a very good one at that. Didn't bother with the second one. All in all, a forgettable game.
Only silver lining I suppose is that we got a closer look at what the florans look like in detail.

And thanks again, anon. This was my first time ever drawing any Floran, but it's pretty fun. I'll definitely stop by another Floran or starbound thread at some point. I typically lurk and sometimes complain about how starbound ended up.

Thanks for the compliment, anon. I will say there is likely some kind of mod that restores it back to more how it was in the beta days. The biggest barrier to me is the fact that there is a mandatory main story now. Going to different types of suns/systems is gated by story progression instead of building and beating the old bosses.

did that teratophilia mod ever add animations for the normal dogs yet?

They're... okay? Genuinely, the actual game is so much of nothing that adding mods to add SOME gameplay is basically necessary to play the game, and that just turns Starbound from a very bad game into a mediocre game.
