They removed 30% of the game 6 months before release, and rewritten any coherent storylines they had.
The worst offenders were the entire Dijkstra's plotline and Uma's disenchanting.

Not sure why people hate on the game so much? Particularly, why the hate on the combat? Yes, it's clunky, but it has charm and complements the game well. The whole game is a white guy running around the place, killing ugly witches and banging hot whute witches. What's wrong with that?

This shit was so terrible in his last chapter, you spend time making buddy buddy with him if you want, and things seem to working out, and then he decides to cheaply stab you in the back with a couple of regular guards. If he was going to betray you he should have gotten someone like the big wizard guy, Vilgefortz or something. One that wasn't dead. Honestly they should have kept him for three, would have made a way cooler boss than shitty elves with armor. That was not what I was expecting to face after all the hype in the previous games. I thought we would be fighting fucking Fiblevvinter Liches.

Never beat Witcher 1 because it played like shit and sided with the elf in 2 because Vernon's introduction to me was an interrogation and putting me under probation so I ran when I could.

So in three the guy who swore a lot had no endearing factor for me because it was my first time meeting him, and Vernon openly stating his desire to sell out the north so Temeria could be a well treated vassal meant I had no problem letting Djikstra kill them.

You now remember the time when Triss crushed that one guy's balls with magic.
