DMC is massive compared to NG. As good as the series is, the playerbase was always small. If you want to genuinely learn them play mushihimesama original and espagaluda, and look up the walkthroughs for 1cc'ing those games. Can anyone tell me if 120FPS mode on console is acting weird? It says it's running at over 100 FPS for me, but the animation/visuals look so bad, like it must really be lowering the visuals immensely to achieve that 100+ FPS, probably gonna just set it to performance and see if that helps.

I'm honestly not liking the visuals that much. It looks like a PS3 game, maybe it's sharper on PC? The artstyle also is nauseating. I will say that so far, the OST has been awesome. I've already got like three songs I plan to add to the old "Video Game Music Playlist" if it launches on Apple Music. I'm playing on HERO and having a blast. I'm self aware enough to know I'm shit at the game, and if it's frustrating to play then I'm not enjoying it. 13 onward in particular are some of the series' best designs.

I've noticed that if you get swarmed by enemies it's basically just a guaranteed death. There doesn't seem to be a lot of AoE abilities aside from that circular anime move you can do with the dual katanas. I'm guessing other weapons later on are more focused on AoE damage, but at the start you REALLY need to keep a wide-berth or always be moving because if 5-6 guys surround you, they'll stun-lock you and then you're dead. Stun-locking is bad in this game, and it seems like the game doesn't really give the player a lot of tools to deal with it. It also doesn't help that enemies can use rockets and guns.

The first boss is brain-dead easy all you have to fucking do is blood-raven counter him and then stun-lock him, then just dodge and parry before he does his RED FLASH attack again and then repeat. I think I beat him in 45 seconds on Normal mode I personally thought the Chapter 3 boss was much harder than the first two. I'm only on Chapter 4 though, so not super far.

If you struggled/got filtered on the first boss then I don't know what to say. It's pretty clear what you're supposed to do, and you just gotta wait for him to do it then blood-raven break him.

I'd keep scrolling until you see the first actual realistic score, and that probably means that person actually got that score legitimately. Fuck this game, kek. They seem to take away heavily if your game time is super long. It took me 35 minutes to clear the first chapter, but I'm not going to fucking rush when there are side quests and places to explore. If they wanted players to beat each stage in 15 minutes then they should have added side-quests and hidden places to explore.

Itagaki as far as I’m concerned is sort of comparable in some ways to the Kojima situation. I’m a MGS fan but I recognize those games were good because they had Kojima (itagaki) but also a good team as well that were good at their job and brought their own ideas to the table. The only issue I see is the level design itself. Why are there platforms that logically don't need to exist? Why are there lit areas with 'metal plates' in these spaces, without any continuity or hint that they play part of a larger structure? So I just started and got through the bits up to the start of ch 1. The dialogue annoyed me enough that I'm going to wait till tomorrow to continue, but I just want to confirm something first.
So this priestess killed a bunch of people to try and ressurect, what is essentially, the big evil killing god, and Yakumo murdered a bunch of her guards, helped her escape, and agreed to help her ritual for little to no reason. I'm sure that the game will make up some bullshit about why resurrecting the evil god is actually a good idea and justify her murders, but that's the premise going in right? Because I'm really confused how stupid this all is.

She's just a priestess and they've basically locked her up for her own safety which is why she's able to get close to the commander guy and throw a flashbang at him. Actually I think you might be talking about the intro bit when they talk about the other games; I forget because those stories aren't exactly gripping but people have tried to resurrect the dark dragon multiple times. Seori was not involved in those attempts (as a new character lol), she's innocent as far as I know from midgame

It actually does have some pause delay strings, but it's not in the combo list. Certain combos that will launch you will not allow you to go into the izuna string in the air, but if you delay your first hit after you launch the enemy up then you can go into the izuna string

It's honestly the best route for any indie to go for 3d action games. Story and level design is too much for one person. I've played a bunch of very cheap low budget action games before and they were either boss rushes or just a single circular arena, all with technically decent combat gameplay but they couldn't afford to put in time and effort for actual levels. Roguelite is a happy medium for that
