I want to quit the internet for my mental health, but then I don't know how I'm going to keep up with gaming news. What do I do?
Anonymous No.723844330 [Report]
just stop using the internet for more than, idk, 30 minutes a day.

Program an RSS aggregator to fetch gayman related news every X hours while you're asleep and read those on your tablet or phone (which should be disconnected from the internet once you're awake)

Because it used to be a funny site where you could make jokes with other likeminded hobbyists who genuinely love videogames and hate the way the industry has turned, but now it's just ragebait and newfag retards with abysmal taste worshipping dogshit.

Can I just pay one of you guys to make one for me?

You need to work backwards. Ask why you want to keep up with gaming news. What will actually change in your life without Internet?

Gematsu is the best news site btw

relegate your internet time to a certain amount every day
when i flunked out of university once i quit this shithole for 5 years straight and got it done (and secured a job too)
humans are creatures of habit, if you fill that gap with something else after like a month or two you won't even miss it

I want to be able to post on this site and have fun with it again instead of getting locked into screaming at newfags for 9 straight hours every single site to get the fuck off my board.

Buy gaming magazines and watch tv shows about video games and video game culture like those on G4 I guess.

Quit 4chan, stop watching porn and do not engage in any social media. Stick to something like Youtube, but don't make any posts. This is how you keep your sanity.

Just check the recently added to the wishlist tab on your store front of choice.
I don't know how it works on Steam or Nintendo but when you wishlist a game on PS5 you'll regular news updates on the home screen about the game.

i just want to quit 4chan. can't even remember the last time i got a decent recommendation or had a decent discussion here. probably 5+ years easily, maybe longer. every single one of my regular boards is just endless garbage, zero good threads or posters every single day for years. it's legitimately mentally exhausting to browse this place nowadays. has been for a long time.

I just decided to take a 2 week break from the internet and now I'm back, just when you posted this. So far I haven't seen any noteworthy gaming news I missed in those 2 weeks I was gone. And I also didn't notice any changes in my mental health since I came back, but I think it will be a good practice to limit my usage to only 1 hour a day or so. Max 2-3 hours.

So if you think you are addicted to the internet and that's a problem for you take a break for some weeks, then come back and decide what to do. It worked for me

Unironically this. Mahjong is the main attraction.
