Dating sims are fucking lame though. Not only are they boring as fuck with almost zero interactivity or challenge, but they're extremely slow on top of that. In addition to that the development costs are absurdly high compared to an actual game, and they expect the customer to recoup those costs.

They need to pay actors . It's basically a short film. Those are by design much more expensive than any similar games, which would be visual novels or those 3D WEG
