To add onto this, I think it's amazing that the game has so much content to begin with, every time you think it's over there's more to it. Also the story was kino.

Yup. This, that one screen with the bridge in the beginning of chapter 4, even the chest in the dark cave in chapter 2 was a mystery for me for the longest time. For some reason I just immediately forgot about goblin doors and never considered the key could ever be the answer again.

i made it to chapter 8 on hard mode and i am getting burned out. i never felt like the game was difficult but this bullet hell BS in this level is wearing on my patience. also the grind for weapons and armor is getting old. seems like i never have money. i do enjoy the gameplay and the storyline is interesting but i think im going to play something else.

just play on hard mode, I dont see how youre ever grinding for anything other than one major story item
dont play impossible. no one cares and no one will know if you dont. If you arent abusing I-frames and equipping ez mode accessories idk what youre doing man the game is pretty fucking easy with the right KARONS. Again, there is literally ONE grind you need to do to advance the story

I'm waiting for a better discount, it seems to only go as low as -25%.

I bought it two days ago and have put 9 hours into it and its pretty fun, few things have given me a chuckle too. I'm currently crossdressing to fight the next boss it seems.
Its thanks for seeing these threads every so often for weeks that made me give it a chance, I'm not a fan of metroidvanias so that was what put me off originally.

244 hours here, played both the base game and side story on maximum difficulty, berserk is
a must with cicada shell.

The biggest hurdle by far was not being able to stop time while inputting the spell commands.

But yeah, what a massive, glorious piece of gaming. The story is just SOOO good. It's a wild ride and I loved it every step of the way.

I've actually spent the last two years adapting it as a pen and paper RPG to play with my friends. We started last month and they just got the scales yesterday.

idk man if you want to get all the gear in each area it's a lot of money. chapter 8 gear is 5k-6k each. the game pretty much forces you to grind for mats. i never had all the mats and $ necessary just by clearing the storyline in each area. i feel forced to acquire everything, you would miss out on too many karon skills otherwise. and i agree the game isnt too hard, this level in particular is just a shit ton of projectiles that keep 2 shotting me. i never tried stacking DEF maybe i'll do that. ive been having success hanging back and sniping things with a bow but that is a little tedious.

yes you're definitely doing something wrong, its been awhile since I played the game but Hard is not hard unless you are not equipping good karons or progressing your weapons

Just finished it yesterday. The story was good for a tranime, gameplay was repetitive trash, music was good. Beat all the bosses with a blue gun. Pirated the game. 6/10

If i had seen astlibras' gameplay and combat of context, i REALLY wonder if id have written it out as garbage. But its actually so fucking fun in middle/lategame. I say that as someone who almost always spammy/floaty games and prefers deliberate animation-driven stuff.

i guess Hell difficulty helps because you can very easily get one-shot so you kind of need to time shields, the dodges or possession i-frames pretty well. in spammy combat with tons of enemies you still need to actually pay attention to them unlike typical ARPG shit specially with how they can nuke you more often than not, and eventually theres more and more bosses where positioning and etc actually sort of matters. The first time i was going through this area it was a pain in the ass because of the tanks
