I get it. For some of you, Nintendo was your entire childhood, and you feel a sense of betrayal. For others, you see it as a sign of the industry getting worse, and that’s a valid concern.

I think it’s mostly existing switch owners were still content enough with the current hardware and nintendo fans that know what they want wanted something that Nintendo wouldn’t deliver. The biggest issue is the lineup they have for 1st party games is not good, they’re apparently making things hard for 3rd party devs after the switch was massive for indie games but also the console had many issues with peripherals which lead to people seeking out 3rd party peripherals which in turn had their own support problems so you’d expect improvement in the Switch2, and also Nintendo is being super legal happy in a climate that is much less tolerant of that than in years past. It makes it hard to support them even after years of their bullshit.

I had $600 stashed away for the past year to get a Switch 2 and after seeing how it launched and how the games are going, I bought a steam deck OLED instead. I owned the switch 1 so I don't know if this counts as a boycott, but I wont be getting Switch 2 unless they dramatically change their business model.
