I see these genshin-like grass fields and I'm immediately turned off. These chink games have no direction. Random foliage everywhere. Glowy crystals floating everywhere. Windmills placed erratically. Different seasons clumped together. Boy has elf ears?? This is so in-your-face trying to seem "magical" that it ironically looks shallow.
Strictly speaking as a fan of older Pokemon, what I liked about the franchise was how it was oddly and simply based on reality. Like it had normal modern cities and people, but with creatures you could catch. And the original 150 were cartoony but still looked feral. You could easily imagine yourself in that kind of world. Now everything is moe and smooth shaped but with complicated patterns that looks AI generated (same problem as modern pokemon). I really miss old Ken Sugimori art style.
