I always struggle with what clan to pick, I like Ventrue and Brujah but redemption and swan song already cover those clans.

VTMB 2 DLC has some Malkavian references and it's making me think of playing as Malk in VTMB 1, but I had already tried Malkavian years ago and it didn't seem like a very enjoyable experience with all dialogues being messy and the protag acting like a Borderlands psycho saying nonsense rather than actual insanity and such

Is it enjoyable? Or only porn addicts who didn't play the game like it over the female Malk model?

The malkavian player speaks in riddle essentially, the nosferatu has to hide, the rest of the clans don't vary too much.

If you haven't played the game yet, it's the second worst option in the game.
For second run, it's the best option.

Malk is incredibly funny, but a lot of the commedy comes from how they actually comprehend the situation better than anyone else, and what sounds like insane rambling, is them really being one step ahead of everyone.
Which is either lost on you if you haven't played the game yet, or worse yet, it spoils shit for you.

Malks are for repeat playthroughs. Same goes for Nosferatu, which is the actual very worst pick for first run.
So if this is your first time, pick literally anything else BUT Malk or Nosferatu. I like Tremere myself, but seriously, all but those two work equally as well.

It really depends on what order you play the game in. VTMB is heavily geared towards multiple playthroughs. Malks and ugly faces are very specifically created to reward replays.

Found it, it's a bit dated/controversial in the patch info but it's still mostly applicable.
And yes Malks are fun but they're better for replays than your first run through. You CAN play a Malk first, and it will give you a unique experience if you do but you'll be getting enough of one of the "normal" clans. As someone else said, you'll have more context to appreciate them if you leave them for another playthrough, not to mention giving you more reason to do playthrough again- because you will be playing through it again, be it right away or "eventually". That's just how Bloodlines (1) works.
Though it should be noted the player Malkavian is 100% Fisk Malk, which not everyone likes, particularly in table top, but it's mostly harmless here once you know the context of what they're talking about. Guides help too.

Everyone says to save Malk for a second playthrough all the time, but it's so, so much better as a first experience as you get to actually experience the voices in your head as voices in your head, not cheeky symbolic spoilers. Yes you "appreciate it" more on a second playthrough, but as a first playthrough it's like nothing I've experienced in any other RPG

the "speaking in riddles" part is actually rather useful in a sense that you have to stop and think what you are about to say, it forces you to read the dialogue thoroughly

Yea it's pretty fun but the reactivity is lacking. NPCs dialogue remains the same mostly after santa monica while you're still a raving lunatic. Nos have far better reactivity and provide a unique gameplay opportunity.

Thinblood is essentially the very high gen vamp, so 14-15-16th. The higher generation you are, the weaker your vampiric abilities are. The 16th IIRC can no longer even Embrace other people, because their blood is so weak.

On paper I love the Nos, but I was very disappointed in the implementation in Bloodlines. It's basically just a few "Omg have you been in a car accident?" dialog reactions from NPCs and that's it. You don't really need to hide in sewers or anything. Random NPCs only freak out if you get literally in their face, right next to them which is super easy to avoid, barely an inconvenience.

I mean it's all understandable given what the game is, the time it released in and it's budged, but still. Nosferatu would need their own game to truly flash out all what the clan is about.
